I see you guys out there…”Yep You!” Pumping out Two to Four Damn Paragraphs and posting them to Substack, Medium, or BuymeaCoffee two, three, & four times per day. I’m not speaking of the Poets, because their Artistic Range is on an entirely different level, and can’t be measured categorically. I’m speaking of the “Zero Content Writers”. I see you constantly posting meaningless content on your Member Feeds, which in turn fills my INBOX with your useless dribble about how many blue sprinkles you received on your morning Donut.
I see it all, because I happen to interact with those that I Subscribe to, sometimes whether I want to or not. I see the Fanatical Religious, the Fanatical Ranter, and the Fanatical Emotional Venter, always crying about something, always having a problem with this or that.
Contrary to popular opinion, I am very pleased that I currently have 121 Subscribers presently, and I feel it's for a good reason…as I respect that it’s not like having 1,210, 12,100, and definitely not like having 121,000 Subscribers. I write my Articles based on what I’m INSPIRED to write about at that moment for me, and those that like or appreciate what I write have Subscribed accordingly. I don’t feel like I’m attempting to ENTERTAIN my Subscribers. I feel like I’m sitting in a nice Sports Bar with them watching what they like to watch too while having a Cold Beer.
Maybe that’s where I have it wrong…or right…depending on one's perspective.
I never came to Substack to buy a Mansion & a Yacht with the residual income from my Hoards of Subscribers that I forced to Pay Me to Subscribe. I appreciate the FREE Subscriber more than maybe I should, because it is those individuals that make Substack REAL. Begging, Manipulating, & SCAMMING people into Subscribing for Money simply isn’t the structure that Substack was created under, however, the monetization aspect was inserted as a means for those that are enjoying a specific Writers works to show their Voluntary Appreciation for their efforts.
So here we are, as I watch my INBOX fill with multiple postings from a handful of people that I subscribe to. Yes, if I Unsubscribe to those individuals I would get significantly LESS Email notifications. Yet, that would force me to nit-pick over every individual that I Subscribe to, and I would slowly become a KAREN over time, whether I wanted to or not. Next thing you know I’m on the Chat-Page vigorously yelling: “You can’t post more than 3x’s per week! It’s now a sub-rule of Substack.”
Unfortunately, empty content is still empty content. Meaningless Dribble, Hallow Words, and Pointless Diatribes dull the senses, and next thing you know…”Apathy” takes hold of your insight, and you no longer want to open ANY Emails, because with each title of each posting you’ve become NUMB to what the Authors have to present.
Why?
What we all have experienced…Opening a supposed Article or Literary Work, and there’s nothing but TWO or THREE DAMN PARAGRAPHS talking about ABSOLUTELY Nothing. As they vent over their feelings of rejections because they didn’t get enough Blue Sprinkles on their Donut.
Since there’s no solution for this rampant style of flooding Substack with Zero Content Articles, I’m essentially spitting into the wind. I just felt like bringing light to this reality in this MASSIVE Article, when compared to the Two Paragraph Especiale’ that is now plaguing Substack.
