He endured hardships despite his status.
But he never turned back.
Because he recognized the truth in the words of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

2. The Only Man to Marry Two Daughters of a Prophet
Uthman (RA) was honored with a title no other man in history has ever held: Dhul-Nurayn (The Possessor of Two Lights).
He married Ruqayyah (RA), the daughter of the Prophet (PBUH).
After her passing, he married Umm Kulthum (RA), the Prophet’s other daughter.
What does this tell us?
That Uthman (RA) was a man of such purity and kindness that the Prophet (PBUH) entrusted his daughters to him.
That his character was so noble that he was twice blessed with a marriage from the best of families.
And when Umm Kulthum (RA) also passed away, the Prophet (PBUH) said:
> “If I had a third daughter, I would have married her to Uthman.”
What greater testimony could there be?

3. The Most Modest Man in History
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the most modest man of all time.
And the one who reflected this trait the most? Uthman ibn Affan (RA).
His shyness was legendary.
Even the angels were shy before him.
Once, when Uthman (RA) entered a gathering, the Prophet (PBUH) adjusted his clothing and sat up straighter.
When asked why, he replied:
> “Should I not be shy of a man around whom even the angels are shy?”
This was the essence of Uthman: Strength wrapped in humility.
A man who could command the world, yet lowered his gaze out of shyness.

4. The Trillionaire Who Gave It All Away
Uthman ibn Affan (RA) was not just wealthy. He was immeasurably rich.
His caravans were so vast that when they arrived in Medina, the ground trembled beneath their weight.
Yet, every time wealth entered his hands, he let it go for the sake of Allah.
He purchased and donated wells of water to the people.
He single-handedly financed the army of the Prophet (PBUH).
He fed entire nations with his wealth.
And what happened?
Allah kept increasing his wealth.
Every time he gave, he received back tenfold.
Because true wealth is not in what you keep, but in what you give.

5. The Man Who Preserved the Quran
During Uthman’s (RA) caliphate, the need arose to preserve the Quran in a single unified script.
Recognizing the importance of this task, he formed a committee to compile and distribute the Quran.
Today, when you hold a Quran in your hands, you are holding the legacy of Uthman (RA).
His leadership ensured that:
✅ The Quran remained free from alterations.
✅ A single recitation was established for all Muslims.
✅ The words of Allah were preserved forever.
And what happened to this man who preserved the words of Allah?
The hypocrites turned against him.

6. The Betrayal and Martyrdom
Despite his wealth and power, Uthman (RA) refused to use force against his fellow Muslims.
When rebels surrounded his home, demanding his resignation, he refused.
Why?
Because he knew the truth.
He knew they were hypocrites seeking power, not justice.
He knew stepping down would weaken the unity of the Ummah.
He knew his time had come.
And so, on the day of his martyrdom:
He was fasting.
He was reading the Quran.
And as he recited the words of Allah, the hypocrites struck.
His blood was spilled on the pages of the Quran he loved.
But did they win?
No.
Because Uthman (RA) returned to his Lord as a martyr, and the hypocrites were exposed.
Because truth always prevails.

7. Uthman (RA) and the Quran: The Divine Connection
Certain verses of the Quran are linked to Uthman (RA):
> “Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you (O Muhammad) - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The Hand of Allah is over their hands. So whoever breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself, and whoever fulfills his promise to Allah, He will grant him a great reward.”
(Surah Al-Fath 48:10)
This verse refers to the Pledge of Ridwan, when the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions made an oath to protect Uthman (RA) when he was believed to have been captured.
Allah honored Uthman (RA) in His eternal words.
And today, when we read the Quran, we honor him as well.
