But I will tell you the truth: your vote does not decide the future of a nation — the system behind that vote does. And that system, my brothers and sisters, must now be rebuilt — by you.
🧠 The Myth of Democracy and the Reality of a Republic
In school, in speeches, on television, they told you America is the “world’s greatest democracy.” That’s not true. America is not a democracy. It is a republic. And there is a profound difference.
In a democracy, the people vote and their choice directly determines the outcome. But in a republic, the people express their will — and those votes must then be certified by a body of individuals chosen for their wisdom, integrity, and loyalty to the state. These are the Electors. They are the guardians of the republic — and they have the power to reject, question, or confirm what the masses demand if it threatens the country’s stability, security, or future.
This is how the United States has survived for nearly 250 years. The Founding Fathers did not trust mob rule. 💰 Money Is the Root of Corruption — And the Prophet Warned Us
The greatest enemy of nations is not war or poverty — it is greed. The love of money has destroyed empires, corrupted revolutions, and turned heroes into traitors. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us:
“The thing I fear most for my Ummah is the love of this world.”
Money will be offered to buy votes. Foreign powers will offer it to buy politicians. And many will sell their dignity for it. But you — you must not be among them. You must be the generation that chooses honor (Sharaf) over wealth, service over self-interest, duty over desire.
🧑🏽🏫 Respect Your Elders — And Guide Them with Ideas
The current president has done an incredible job protecting Somalia’s sovereignty from Ethiopia. He is, at his core, a schoolteacher — and we must respect that. Our elders in politics are not enemies; they are our fathers, our advisors, and our teachers. But even fathers need guidance, and even teachers must sometimes listen to their students.
If we give them good ideas, if we support them with sincerity, if we refuse to be manipulated — we will deliver a peaceful, prosperous Somalia. But that requires one essential step: ending the illusion of “one man, one vote.”
⚖️ The Electoral College System Saved Somalia — And It Must Save It Again
The truth is undeniable: the current president himself was saved by the Electoral College system. He rose to power not because of the masses but because of a trusted body of electors who acted in the nation’s best interest. But instead of strengthening that system, he abandoned it. He betrayed the very mechanism that made his leadership possible and returned the country to a fragile, corruptible one-man-one-vote model.
And that model will betray us again.

We need a system that filters out greed and rewards integrity. We need a process that protects our sovereignty, not one that sells it. And we need a generation that understands how power truly works.
