The Role of Angels in Our Lives: Unseen Protectors, Witnesses, and Messengers
Tonight, You Are Surrounded by Angels
With the arrival of Ramadan, the gates of Heaven are open, the devils are chained, and the angels have descended in unimaginable numbers.
They are not strangers to us—they have been with us since the moment we entered this world. Some record our deeds, others offer divine protection, and some carry our prayers straight to the heavens.
But do we ever stop to think about their presence?
Every moment, they are here—watching, writing, and praying for us. Tonight, let’s take a moment to acknowledge our closest unseen companions.

1. The Angels Who Record Our Every Action
They are with you right now.
The Kiraman Katibin—the Honorable Scribes—sit on your right and left shoulders, writing down everything you say and do.
Allah tells us:
"When the two receivers (angels) receive, seated on the right and on the left, man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]."
(Surah Qaf 50:17-18)
✔️ Every kind word you speak—they write it down.
✔️ Every moment of patience, every act of kindness—they preserve it.
✔️ Every prayer, every tear, every whispered dua—it is recorded forever.
And the sins? They write those too—but with mercy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"The angel on the left delays recording a sin for six hours. If the person repents, it is not written. If they do not, then it is recorded as one sin."
(Musnad Ahmad 17955)
They never sleep. They never miss a moment.
And on the Day of Judgment, your Book of Deeds will be handed to you—written by your very own angels.

2. The Angels Who Protect You From Harm
The world is full of dangers, but most of them never reach you.
Why? Because Allah has placed guardian angels over us.
"For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah..."
(Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:11)
✔️ That near-miss accident? They shielded you.
✔️ That sudden feeling of unease before making a bad decision? They whispered to you.
✔️ That moment when harm was meant to reach you, but it didn’t? They stood in its path.
These angels surround you every moment of the day—until the decree of Allah is fulfilled.
But they are not present in places of sin. If you want the angels to protect you, keep your home pure, filled with Quran and dhikr (remembrance of Allah).

3. The Angels Who Bring You Peace and Mercy
Have you ever sat in a gathering of knowledge, reading Quran or discussing Islam, and felt an overwhelming sense of peace?
That is because the angels were with you.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"Whenever people gather to remember Allah, angels surround them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those near Him."
(Sahih Muslim 2700)
✔️ If you want the angels to visit you, make dhikr.
✔️ If you want their peace, recite Quran.
✔️ If you want their presence, pray with sincerity.
Angels love to be where Allah is remembered.

4. The Angels Who Witness Your Prayers and Fasting
This month, angels are recording your every act of worship.
They are witnesses to your fasting.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"When a fasting person eats at the time of Iftar, the angels send blessings upon him."
(Ibn Majah 1743)
They are witnesses to your prayers.
"The angels of the night and the angels of the day come to you in succession at Fajr and Asr. Then they ascend, and Allah asks them: 'How did you leave My servants?' They say: 'We left them while they were praying, and we came to them while they were praying.'"
(Sahih al-Bukhari 555, Sahih Muslim 632)
✔️ If you want angels to pray for you, stay firm in your salah.
✔️ If you want angels to carry your duas to Allah, call upon Him sincerely.
✔️ If you want to be surrounded by them, seek forgiveness often.
They record your every moment of devotion, and on the Day of Judgment, they will testify in your favor.

5. The Angels Who Bring Death and the Hereafter
When your time comes, angels will be the first beings you see.
For the righteous, the Angels of Mercy will descend, saying:
"Do not fear and do not grieve, but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. We were your allies in worldly life, and [so too] in the Hereafter."
(Surah Fussilat 41:30-31)
But for the wicked, the angels of punishment will approach, striking them with severity.
The Qur’an warns:
"If you could only see when the wrongdoers are in the throes of death while the angels extend their hands [saying], 'Give up your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of humiliation…'"
(Surah Al-An'am 6:93)
✔️ Angels are the first to welcome believers to the Hereafter.
✔️ They question the dead in the grave.
✔️ They greet those who enter Paradise with 'Peace be upon you.'
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us:
"When the believer is placed in the grave, two angels come and ask, 'Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet?'"
(Sunan Abi Dawood 4753)
At that moment, your relationship with Allah will be all that matters.

Conclusion: Your Angels Are Watching – Make Them Witness Goodness
The angels have been with you every step of the way.
They record your actions, protect you, and send peace upon you.
But they also depart from homes of sin. They turn away from heedlessness. They do not enter places where Allah is forgotten.
So, bring them closer.
✔️ Fill your home with Quran and dhikr.
✔️ Pray with devotion and sincerity.
✔️ Give charity, fast, and perform good deeds.
✔️ Make dua often, so they can carry your prayers to the heavens.
They are with you now, recording your every moment.
On the Day of Judgment, they will speak about you.
Make sure they have only good things to say.
