A Night Greater Than 1,000 Months
Allah Himself describes this night in the Quran:
"Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Power."
"And what can make you know what the Night of Power is?"
"The Night of Power is better than a thousand months."
"The angels and the Spirit [Jibril] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter."
"Peace it is until the emergence of dawn."

It is on this night that Allah decrees the affairs of the coming year—who will live, who will pass away, who will prosper, and who will face hardship. It is a night to ask for a better destiny.It is filled with peace until dawn

The Prophet’s Guidance on Laylat al-Qadr
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the significance of seeking this night:
"Whoever stands (in prayer) during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven."

He also guided his companions to seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan, particularly in the odd nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th):
"Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan."

When Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet what to say if she found Laylat al-Qadr, he taught her this powerful dua:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni."
"O Allah, You are Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me."

How to Make the Most of Laylat al-Qadr
If this is a night that adds 83 years of worship to your life, then every second should be cherished. Here’s how you can maximize it:
1. Pray As Much As You Can
Taraweeh and extra nawafil prayers: The more you stand in prayer, the more rewards are multiplied beyond calculation.
Tahajjud: This is the night when doors of mercy are wide open. Pray and ask for everything you wish.
2. Recite and Reflect on the Quran
This is the night the Quran was revealed—honor it by reading, understanding, and living its words.
3. Seek Forgiveness and Make Dua
Ask Allah to wipe away all sins.
Pray for your parents, family, and the entire Ummah.
Don't forget to say the dua the Prophet taught Aisha (RA):
"O Allah, You love to forgive, so forgive me."
4. Give Charity
A single dollar given tonight is as if you gave every night for 83 years.
Help the poor, sponsor an orphan, or donate to a cause.
5. Free Yourself from Hellfire
The Prophet (PBUH) said that during Ramadan, Allah frees people from Hellfire every night. Beg Allah to make you one of them.
Laylat al-Qadr: The Night That Adds Years to Your Life
Imagine standing on Judgment Day and seeing 83 years of worship recorded for you from a single night.
Imagine being short of good deeds, but then this night saves you.
Imagine having sins you regret, but this night erases them all.
You don’t need to live another 83 years to earn these rewards. You only need to stay awake, pray, seek forgiveness, and give tonight.

The Night Calls—Will You Answer?
This is Laylat al-Qadr, the night when the Quran first descended, the night when the heavens open, and the night when your destiny can change. Do not let it slip away.
Stand in prayer. Seek forgiveness. Give in charity. Raise your hands in dua.

Surah Al-Qadr (97:1-5)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Power.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
And what can make you know what the Night of Power is?
لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
The angels and the Spirit [Jibril] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
