TEXAS BALLOT ELECTIONS, GOVERNOR’S CANDIDATE REPORT CARD, AND DECISION-MAKING FOR MUSLIMS

I began with my California ballot. Now we are moving to Texas.

The question is the same: Who is asking for power, what have they done to deserve it, and how should an ordinary person decide?

Most people are busy. They are working, raising children, paying bills, and trying to keep their lives together. Then election season arrives, and suddenly they are expected to understand candidates, government institutions, campaign promises, and decisions that will affect millions of people.

I want to make that process easier. The voter should be able to understand the office, examine the evidence, question the candidate, and explain why the vote was cast.

That is the purpose of the Superuser Voting Report Card.

WHO IS RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR OF TEXAS?

For the November 3, 2026 general election, the Texas Secretary of State’s certification lists three printed candidates for governor:

Candidate Party Greg Abbott Republican Gina Hinojosa Democratic Pat Dixon Libertarian

These are the three names certified to appear as printed choices in this contest.

But the record does not end there. Texas also has four certified write-in candidates for governor:

Candidate Ballot status Edward Earl Giles Certified write-in Jenn Mack Certified write-in Jinghpaw Majoishingra Certified write-in Mike Miller Certified write-in

The state’s write-in certification identifies these four people as properly filed, declared write-in candidates for the November election.

Three printed names. Four certified write-in candidates. Seven people to examine.

A smaller campaign deserves a place in this record. A candidate without television advertisements deserves a place in this record. Being unfamiliar to the public does not tell us whether someone has good ideas, relevant experience, or the ability to serve.

At the same time, inclusion is not an endorsement. Every candidate must answer the questions.

UNDERSTAND THE OFFICE BEFORE GRADING THE PERSON

Before asking who should become governor, we need to understand what the governor can actually do.

The Governor of Texas signs or vetoes legislation, convenes special legislative sessions for specified purposes, commands the state’s military forces, recommends a budget, and makes appointments under the applicable rules.

That gives us a starting point for examining campaign promises.

When a candidate says, “I will fix this,” the next questions should be: With which power? Through which law? With whose cooperation? At what cost? And by when?

Our research must identify what the governor can deliver directly, what requires the Legislature, and what belongs to other institutions. A clear promise should come with a clear explanation of how it can become a result.

Understanding the office is part of understanding the candidate.

WHAT THIS REPORT CARD WILL EXAMINE

I am particularly concerned with the interests, dignity, civil rights, and future of Muslims. That is where this examination begins.

How has each candidate approached religious freedom? What is the record on Islamophobia? How would the candidate protect Muslim communities and other religious minorities? What positions have they taken on Palestine, peaceful protest, and political expression?

We will also examine education, healthcare, housing, affordability, economic opportunity, privacy, surveillance, public safety, and the responsible use of government power.

And we will ask about artificial intelligence. Will ordinary people have access to useful AI tools? What protections will exist for their private information? How will schools, workers, small businesses, and communities benefit?

These questions are especially relevant to Muslim voters, but each voter remains free to weigh them differently.

Muslims have different experiences, priorities, and political judgments. The report should give people evidence they can use to make their own decisions.

THE SAME QUESTIONS FOR ALL SEVEN CANDIDATES

Greg Abbott, Gina Hinojosa, Pat Dixon, Edward Earl Giles, Jenn Mack, Jinghpaw Majoishingra, and Mike Miller will all be examined under the same standards.

What experience prepares you for this office? What have you accomplished? What decisions are you willing to defend? What would you change, and how would you deliver it?

An incumbent should be able to explain the results of holding power. A challenger should be able to explain why their proposed approach would work. Every candidate should be able to identify priorities, legal powers, costs, deadlines, and measures of success.

Where evidence is missing, the report will say so. A research gap does not automatically become a failing grade. It becomes a question that still needs an answer.

THE THREE-SCORE SYSTEM

Every candidate’s report card will contain three separate assessments.

1. THE SUPERUSER PROVISIONAL SCORE

This will be based on publicly available evidence, with an explanation of the findings. It can change when better evidence appears. No numerical grade should be assigned simply to fill an empty space.

2. THE VOTER SCORE

_____ / 90

This belongs to you. Read the evidence, examine the reasoning, and make your own judgment. You may agree with my assessment or give the candidate a different score. Explain what matters to you and why.

3. THE CANDIDATE SELF-SCORE

_____ / 90

This belongs to the candidate. If the research misses an accomplishment, provide it. If a statement is inaccurate, correct it. If a policy has been misunderstood, explain it. If you believe you deserve a higher score, show the public the evidence.

The report card should be open to correction.

MONEY WILL NOT DETERMINE THE LEADERSHIP GRADE

I want to examine campaign money because voters should be able to understand who supports a campaign and what the financial record shows.

But the amount raised will not determine a candidate’s leadership score. A large campaign still has to answer questions about its record. A small campaign still has to answer questions about its plans.

Every eligible candidate will have a place in this examination.

AN INVITATION TO THE CANDIDATES

To all seven candidates seeking to become Governor of Texas: I welcome your response.

Tell us your three highest priorities. Explain the governor’s legal power behind each one, what it will cost, how it will be funded, when you expect to deliver it, and how the public should judge the result.

Tell us how you intend to protect religious freedom, civil liberties, and the dignity of the people you would serve. Tell us what ordinary families can realistically expect from your administration.

If you believe the report is incomplete or unfair, bring the evidence. I hope to make room for a brief conversation, by telephone or in person, so that your explanation can become part of the public record.

Participation will not guarantee an endorsement. It will give voters more information.

THE HUMAN BEING HOLDING THE BALLOT DECIDES

My California ballot became the starting point for a larger project. Now that project reaches Texas.

I want the voter to understand the institution, the office, and the people asking for power. I want the candidate to have an opportunity to answer. And I want the final decision to belong to the human being who must live with its consequences.

AI researches. The public grades. The candidate answers. The human decides.

That is the Superuser Vote.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO THE CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR OF TEXAS

Greg Abbott, you have an F from me.

You have lost my confidence as a Muslim voter. Other Muslims will speak for themselves, but this is the message I am sending you.

A real politician should take an F seriously. A real politician should protect the trust they are given. I think you could make a great president, and even if you ran and lost, you could return to your work as governor and do great things.

It is up to you to change your grade.

In my judgment, you have earned an F in how you have approached the Muslim community. But I am giving you this grade as a Muslim and sending you a message. If you really are a great politician, you should have no problem listening, answering, and solving problems.

A real politician does whatever they can to earn people’s respect and solve their problems. I am here to solve the problems of the world. I want to become the most loved human through getting things done, being transparent, being honest, and not beating about the bush, sir.

I hope you will change your grade.

Gina Hinojosa, I hope you will earn the Muslim vote. You have my 100% endorsement.

Make sure you visit the mosques. Give them a Superuser Ledger, and make sure you are the first one to sign it. Most of these Muslims have no idea who I am, but I want them to have a record, a voice, and an opportunity to participate.

I want to see a Hispanic woman have the opportunity to become president. Even if you do not win the governorship, the AI system I am building could help launch your next campaign.

There is a future beyond this election.

Pat Dixon, what an incredible person you are, launching your campaign for governor.

I hope you will win, and even if you do not, I hope you will give me some advice about Texas.

I really love Lyndon Johnson. I also have plenty of Texas stories and jokes about biscuits. I am a truck driver, and I have driven all over Texas. I would like to visit the LBJ Library.

If you win, that is wonderful. If you do not, I think we are going to be friends.

Jenn Mack, I looked at your website. Incredible.

You are talking about the Constitution. If this were a truly fair political playing field, I think you could have been one of the greatest contenders—and I think you still are.

You have a B from my provisional report.

I look forward to having a conversation with you and seeing how things are going to work out.

Edward Earl Giles and Jinghpaw Majoishingra, you receive an honorable mention.

We have not yet found verified photographs or enough information to complete your reports. That does not tell us how much effort you have made. Introduce yourselves, send your photographs, and tell us what you want to do for Texas.

You have a place in this record, and I welcome your response.

Mike Miller of the American Solidarity Party, I do not know much about you yet.

But you have done a good job presenting yourself with your photograph, and I see someone willing to put himself forward as a candidate for governor.

You have a B+ from me as an initial personal impression. I wish you the best of luck, and I look forward to learning more about you.

Probably the most important thing I would tell all of you is this: AI is going to play a major role in America’s elections, and humans must remain in charge.

I am building a system that does exactly that. AI researches. People examine the evidence. Candidates answer. The human being decides.

I look forward to having conversations with you, and I wish all of you the best of luck with your endeavors. I hope each of you succeeds in doing something good for the people.

Whoever wins, congratulations. Whoever loses, we have work to do.

American politics is being redesigned, and the world will be a better place for it. Period.
