📖 Surah Al-Baqarah (Verses 29-39) – The Creation of Adam & The First Test

📖 هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ ٢٩
📖 29. It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, and made them seven heavens; and He is Knowing of all things.
📖 وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ خَلِيفَةٗۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَجۡعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفۡسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسۡفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحۡنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمۡدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَۖ قَالَ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٣٠
📖 30. And [mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority (Khalifah)." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
📖 وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبُِٔونِي بِأَسۡمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ٣١
📖 31. And He taught Adam the names—all of them. Then He presented them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."
📖 قَالُوا۟ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ لَا عِلۡمَ لَنَآ إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمۡتَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٣٢
📖 32. They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
📖 قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئۡهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡۖ فَلَمَّآ أَنبَأَهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ غَيۡبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَأَعۡلَمُ مَا تُبۡدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡتُمُونَ ٣٣
📖 33. He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."
📖 وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٣٤
📖 34. And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblis. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
📖 وَقُلۡنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسۡكُنۡ أَنتَ وَزَوۡجُكَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنۡهَا رَغَدًا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمَا وَلَا تَقۡرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٣٥
📖 35. And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
📖 فَأَزَلَّهُمَا ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ عَنۡهَا فَأَخۡرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِۖ وَقُلۡنَا ٱهۡبِطُوا۟ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوّٞۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُسۡتَقَرّٞ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ ٣٦
📖 36. But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."
📖 فَتَلَقَّىٰٓ ءَادَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ كَلِمَٰتٖ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٣٧
📖 37. Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.
📖 قُلۡنَا ٱهۡبِطُوا۟ مِنۡهَا جَمِيعٗاۖ فَإِمَّا يَأۡتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدٗى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ ٣٨ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ٣٩
📖 38-39. Those who follow My guidance will have no fear, while those who reject it will be in the Fire forever.

These verses were revealed in Medina, after the Hijrah (migration) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). At that time:
The Jews of Medina questioned the Prophet (PBUH) about Adam (AS) and creation.
Christian and Jewish scholars claimed superiority due to their ancestry from Adam.
Some hypocrites in Medina doubted the concept of divine guidance and free will.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:
"The superiority of a scholar over a worshiper is like the superiority of the moon over all other stars." (Tirmidhi)

Knowledge is what elevates humanity—not lineage or physical strength.
Humility in knowledge is a sign of righteousness.

4️⃣ The Command to Prostrate & Iblis’s Arrogance (Verse 34)
📖 "And [mention] when We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam'; so they prostrated, except for Iblis. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers." (2:34)
🔹 Theme:
The angels obeyed immediately, recognizing Adam’s special status.
Iblis (Satan) refused, out of arrogance and pride.
This was the first act of disobedience in creation.
📜 Hadith on Arrogance:
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
"No one who has an atom’s weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise." (Muslim)

Arrogance leads to rejection of truth.
Humility is the key to obedience and success.

5️⃣ The Test & the First Sin (Verses 35-36)
📖 "And We said, 'O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.' But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been." (2:35-36)
🔹 Theme:
Adam and Hawwa were given complete freedom—except for one rule.
Satan deceived them into disobedience.
The consequence was their descent to earth.
📜 Hadith on Satan’s Deception:
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
"Satan flows through the veins of the son of Adam like blood." (Bukhari, Muslim)

Satan’s goal is to make people slip, just like he did with Adam.

Allah accepted his repentance, showing that no sin is too great if we turn back to Him.

Every mistake can be forgiven if there is sincere repentance.

📖 "Whoever follows My guidance—no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve." (2:38)
