Yazid's army butchered Imam Hussein and his companions in one of the most horrific massacres in history. Among those killed were young children, including Zainab's own nephews and family members.
The scene was unimaginable.
The sands of Karbala ran red with the blood of the Prophet's family.
The bodies of the slain were left unburied.
The tents were set on fire.
The women and children were dragged into captivity.
Zainab lost everything—her brothers, her nephews, her protectors, her home.
After this, Zainab was taken captive. She was handcuffed, paraded through the streets, and dragged to the court of Yazid in chains, while the heads of her slain family members were carried before her.
Imagine this scene:
A woman, royalty by birth, walking through a hostile crowd, having lost everything—yet standing tall with unshakable faith.
She did not weep in public.
She did not wail.
She did not beg for mercy.
She carried herself with a dignity that left even her captors in awe.

When she was brought before Yazid, he mocked her suffering, believing he had destroyed her family and crushed their spirit.

"O Yazid, do you think you have gained honor and power by killing the family of the Prophet? You may rejoice today, but know that your time is short. Justice will catch up to you, and on the Day of Judgment, we will see who is truly victorious!"

She is the Office of Accountability after the battlefield.

While Imam Hussein stood with his sword on the sands of Karbala, Sayyida Zainab stood with her words in the palace of Yazid.
One refused to give his hand on the battlefield.
