Eid Mubarak — You Lived 30 Days Without the Devil. What Did You Discover?

Eid Mubarak.

You were given thirty days of mercy.
Thirty days of peace.
Thirty days where the noise was lowered, where the devil was restrained, where the weight of whispers was not the same.

Thirty days where you tasted a different version of yourself.

I pray that Allah accepts your fasting, your قيام, your patience, your moments of weakness, and your moments of strength. I pray that every hunger, every thirst, every quiet tear, and every sincere intention is written for you as light.

But now—Eid is not just celebration.

It is reflection.

Because for thirty days, you lived without being overwhelmed by what usually surrounds you. And in that space, something was revealed: you are more than you thought you were. Stronger than you assumed. Calmer than you expected.

So now we ask:

What did you discover about yourself when the devil was not there to carry the whispers?

What did your heart feel like when it was not constantly interrupted?
What did your mind look like when it was not being pulled in every direction?
What did your soul taste when it was given space to breathe?

This is not the end of Ramadan.

This is the beginning of understanding what Allah showed you.

An incredible creation.
An incredible balance.
An incredible opportunity.

Eid Mubarak.

Now—reflect.

After the Silence: The Return of the Whisper and the Truth of the Self

The Opening: The Return Has Begun

The days of ease have passed, and the return has begun.

For thirty days, the devil was restrained. The whispers were quieted. The pathways were narrowed. The weight felt lighter, and the heart was given space to remember what it could be without constant interruption. You were given a rare moment—a life without being tag-teamed.

And yet, even then, the struggle did not disappear—because the enemy is not only outside of you.

There is a voice that remains.

It is subtle. It does not shout. It suggests. It decorates. It delays. It calls you back to what you already escaped, but in a softer tone. This is the nafs—the lower self—the part of you that inclines, that pulls, that whispers from within.

And alongside it is another voice—the external whisperer, Shayṭān—who finds his way through that same opening.

One calls from within. One calls from outside. And together, they form a system that can either be recognized—or followed.

Allah reminds us:

“Every nafs shall taste death.”

Not that it disappears—but that it separates, and continues with what it has become.

So the return of the devil is not the beginning of the battle.

It is the continuation of one that never left.

Now the question is not whether the whispers will come—they will.

The question is: will you recognize them this time?

The Reality: You Are Not Just One Thing

The Qur’an opens by teaching you how to ask for guidance:

“Guide us to the straight path.”

And it closes by revealing what stands in your way:

“From the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the breasts of mankind.”

This is not metaphor.

It is a map of your inner world.

Because you are not just one thing.

You are a being composed of layers:

  • You have a rūḥ (soul) — pure, brought forth by the command of Allah, inclined toward truth, untouched in its origin.

  • You have a nafs (lower self) — as revealed: “Indeed the nafs commands to evil” — a force that desires, suggests, decorates, and pulls.

  • And you have Shayṭān — the external whisperer, who enters through what already exists within you.

This is the reality: you are a soul, placed into a body, accompanied by a self—and that self can be influenced.

For thirty days, one of them was restrained.

The devil was chained.

The noise was lowered.

And in that silence, something became clear:

The nafs was still there.

It could still lean.
It could still revive habits.
It could still echo what it had learned.

Because the battle was never only against the devil.

It was against what the devil had already planted within you.

Ramadan did not remove the struggle.

It revealed it.

The Recognition: What You Witnessed

You had one month without being tag-teamed.

One full month.

If you think of yourself like a system—a human computer—then one of the programs that constantly ran in the background was paused.

The program that said:

  • You are not enough

  • You will fail

  • You are behind

  • You should give up

That program was silenced.

And yet—you remained.

And if you paid attention, you noticed something:

  • You were not overtaken by darkness.

  • You were not consumed by hopelessness.

  • You did not collapse because of a thought.

Even when the nafs spoke, it felt different.

It was smaller.
It was weaker.
It did not carry that same weight.
It did not have that metallic taste.

It was just a voice.

And that is the truth you have now seen:

The whisper is nothing—until you carry it.

The Response: What You Are Told To Do

So, my fellow human beings, it is time to stop—and be present.

To stand still enough that when the attacks come, you do not become them.

You see them.
You recognize them.
You do not carry them.

And maybe—you even learn to smile at them.

Because every evil thought is not a fall.

It is an opportunity.

An opportunity to turn back to Allah.

To pause and ask:

  • Where did this come from?

  • Did I forget to remember Him?

  • Did I leave a door open?

  • Did I linger where I should not?

And the answer is simple—because the Qur’an already gave it:

When Shayṭān touches you—remember Allah.

That is it.

A return.
A shift.
A remembrance.

The Truth: Who You Really Are

Remember this:

The purpose of life is remembrance.

You were given a soul that is in obedience.

A rūḥ that does not rebel.
That does not disobey.
That remains pure in its origin.

Your light, your beauty, your clarity—

These are not things you need to create.
They are things you have forgotten.

Forgotten beneath layers of habit, distraction, and whispers.

But all of this is a choice.

This life is a test.

A precise test.

Where you can:

  • Rise higher than the angels through conscious obedience

  • Fall lower than the devils through neglect and surrender

That is the weight of being human.
That is the honor of it.

The Perspective: The Beauty of the Human Experience

What an incredible creation you are.

To feel doubt.
To feel expansion and contraction.
To rise and fall.

To be like a balloon—filled, emptied, filled again.

This is not a flaw.

This is the experience of being human.

And today, we may not have the data.

We may not yet see millions of lives mapped before and after Ramadan.

But a time is coming—with AI—where patterns will become visible.

And you will see:

  • You are not the same person every 30 days

  • You change

  • You grow

  • You transform

You will witness your own evolution.

The Conclusion: Trust the One Who Orchestrates Everything

As the world moves forward, this moment—this return after Ramadan—is clarity.

And many will not even notice the devil’s return.

That is how powerless he is.
That is how powerful Allah is.

So put your trust in the One who manages all affairs.

This is not chaos.

This is orchestration.

As Allah says:

“Tabāraka alladhī biyadihi al-mulk, wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.
Alladhī khalaqa al-mawta wa al-ḥayāta liyabluwakum ayyukum aḥsanu ‘amala, wa huwa al-‘azīz al-ghafūr.”

Blessed is the One in whose Hand is all dominion, and He is over all things capable.
The One who created death and life to test you—which of you is best in deeds—and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.

And the best deeds are not always grand.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us:

A smile is charity.

Sometimes the best deed is silence.
Sometimes it is restraint.
Sometimes it is simply ensuring that others are safe from your hands and your tongue.

That is Islam.

And you have already practiced it.

For thirty days:

  • You held back

  • You did not harm

  • You did not backbite

  • You did not attack

So take what you have learned—and continue.

Go forward with trust in Allah.

You have been given the chance:

  • To rise

  • To ascend

  • To become

Beyond the angels.

And the reward does not stop.

Your Lord has given you Shawwāl.

Fast six days—and the reward continues.

Multiplied.
Extended.
Carried forward.

Because your Lord is:

Ever-Powerful.
Ever-Generous.

So continue.

And remember who you are.
