Love has become unknown in my generation

Oct 12, 2024

Love has become unknown in my generationimage; it’s rarely expressed anymore, especially in public. Young people have become strangers to it—they don’t recognize its traces, let alone understand what it truly is.

I would like to create circles for reading this poetry and discussing what the heart feels and what this journey entails. This is especially important for those who might never reach the heights of love that come with commitment and dedication, leading to complete purity and happiness.

Love is unknown. Even those who express it publicly often do not want to explore it deeply. They can't even recognize its beauty, let alone pass it on to the younger generation who deserve to be loved and protected from those who are abusive and clever with their tongues—people who say and do what they need to get what they want, only to move on to the next victim.

Nobody blames people for being blinded by looking directly at the sun when it’s bright. But the sun does set, offering an opportunity to explore what love is or what the expectations of love are. It’s important for young people to have the appetite to learn through poetry so they don’t become lost. They should be reminded of the burden of love that comes with purity and dedication.

Young people, full of life and looking to find their one true love, should at least not be fooled or become used and abused. They should seek love in the right places and not give up what they can never get back. It’s unfortunate that my project of exposing young people to real stories of love did not stay the course, but I hope the message will be passed on to future generations.

**In Conclusion**

The religion of Islam is a religion of pure love that comes with sacrifice and is expressed openly. Muslims express their hearts in public, as demonstrated in the story of Layla and Majnun—something not celebrated anymore in this generation. People today fear others more than they fear Allah. Even if their hearts feel love, they will not express it publicly for fear of ridicule and exploitation.

Love, understood in its true sense, carries a burden and requires sacrifice. This was once a common understanding, especially among the young. Unfortunately, I live in a time and place that does not care about the heart, because they do not know who Allah is—the One who looks at hearts, not bodies. This AI-driven exploration of poetry has been incredible, allowing me to dive deep into a subject I always wanted to understand but found challenging to explore on my own.

Whether the world will join us in reciting this poetry and preparing people to understand the true essence of love remains to be seen. It's not about temporary pleasures but about long-term commitments for the sake of Allah. This journey of love, with its sacrifices and burdens, is yet to be fully explored. I am yet to meet Muslims who are excited about love poetry and who understand that the Muslim heart is always circling love itself. There is nothing more beloved than the master of the green dome, our blessed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). His love is only understood by those who recognize what they lack, what they are desperate for, and what they could have if they step forward and emulate his character.

I strive to practice the character, smile, and generosity of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Unfortunately, on this platform, I often encounter people who need what they call tough love. These individuals will never get the chance to look beyond the covers; they will be kept at a safe distance so they never know who they are really dealing with. Those with souls, who are truly alive, understand what it means to be in the presence of someone who is fully present. That will never be possible on this platform, so at least reminders of what love is and the burdens that come with it offer a chance for reflection.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."

We will pick this up at a different time.
