🔹 Surah Al-Baqarah (2:83) – Ihsan in Tawheed & Moral Conduct
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ لَا تَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا "And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel: ‘Do not worship except Allah, and to parents do Ihsan...’"

This verse links Ihsan directly to Tawheed (pure monotheism). Worship of Allah must be exclusive, and immediately after, the command to do Ihsan to parents follows. This signifies that excellence in belief must be reflected in excellence in behavior. If your worship is true, it must manifest in the way you treat others—starting with your parents.
🔹 Surah Al-Baqarah (2:195) – Ihsan in Charity & Trust in Allah
وَأَنفِقُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تُلْقُوا۟ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى ٱلتَّهْلُكَةِ ۛ وَأَحْسِنُوٓا۟ ۛ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ "And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] into destruction. And do Ihsan; indeed, Allah loves the Muhsinin (those who excel in goodness).”

Excellence in giving charity is not just about donating money. It requires sincerity, trust, and an unwavering commitment to uplift others. The warning against throwing oneself into destruction suggests that stinginess leads to societal collapse. This verse makes clear that Ihsan is not an optional virtue—it is a divine protection from destruction.

2️⃣ Excellence in Justice & Social Relations
🔹 Surah Al-Nisa’ (4:36) – Ihsan in Family, Orphans, and Social Justice
وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًۭا وَبِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ... "Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do Ihsan, and also to relatives, orphans, the needy..."

Parents
Relatives
Orphans

Neighbors (both close and distant)
The traveler

This highlights that Ihsan is not selective; it must be applied across all social interactions. Every person in your life deserves to be treated with the highest standard of character and justice.
🔹 Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:13) – Ihsan Even Towards Betrayers
وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَآئِنَةٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّنْهُمْ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱصْفَحْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ "So pardon them and overlook [their faults]. Indeed, Allah loves the Muhsinin (those who excel in Ihsan)."

Here, Allah commands Ihsan even in the face of betrayal. The natural response to treachery is anger and revenge, but the Qur’an elevates the response to excellence in forgiveness and patience. Ihsan is not just about being kind to those who deserve it—it extends even to those who fail you.

🔹 Surah Luqman (31:14) – Ihsan as the Root of Gratitude
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍۢ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ "And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination."
🔹 Analysis:
Gratitude is not just a feeling—it is a divine obligation. Ihsan towards parents is an act of worship. This verse also suggests that without Ihsan, gratitude itself is incomplete. If you are grateful in your heart but do not act upon it through kindness and service, your gratitude is not whole.
🔹 Surah Al-Mulk (67:2) – The Ultimate Test of Ihsan
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا "He who created death and life to test you—which of you is best in deeds..."

This is one of the heaviest verses in the Qur’an regarding Ihsan. Allah did not say, “Who does the most deeds” or “Who does good deeds.” Instead, He demands the absolute best.
Quality matters more than quantity
