1. Overemphasis on Specific Doctrines: A constant focus on topics like Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and the condemnation of Bid'ah (innovation) can be a tactic to instill fear and control. 2. Psychological Manipulation: Utilizing concepts like Shirk (associating partners with Allah) to induce guilt and fear, leading individuals to believe they are beyond Allah's mercy. This approach can trap believers in a state of despair, preventing them from seeking genuine guidance.

us with the means to seek and recognize it.
The Weaponization of Innovation (Bid’ah) and Shirk: The Greatest Tool of Control
One of the most powerful tools used by false teachers and manipulators in our religion today is the excessive use of Bid’ah (innovation) and Shirk (associating partners with Allah) as a means of psychological control. It is their greatest weapon—a tool to make people feel hopeless, disconnected from Allah’s mercy, and under the constant fear that they have committed an unforgivable sin.
But the reality is far different from the picture they paint. The goal is not to purify your faith—it is to make you afraid, to control you, and to isolate you from those who carry the light of true guidance.
The Reality of Shirk: What They Don’t Tell You
How They Use Shirk to Control You
They never stop talking about shirk. Every lecture, every khutbah, every discussion somehow comes back to how you must be careful not to commit shirk.
They use selective verses of the Qur’an that discuss shirk, emphasizing only the part where Allah says He does not forgive it, without completing the verse that mentions that He forgives everything else for whom He wills.
They create a constant state of paranoia, making you feel that your actions, your love for the Prophet (peace be upon him), or even your everyday behavior could be leading you to shirk.
They label everyone else as committing shirk—Sufi scholars, those who celebrate the Prophet’s birth, those who visit the graves of pious people—all of them, in their eyes, are “mushrik” (polytheists).
The Truth About Shirk
Allah is beyond comparison – The idea of shirk is not that Allah has a "rival." Allah has no equal, no partner, and nothing can truly be "associated" with Him in a way that would limit Him.
Committing shirk does not mean Allah is harmed – Associating partners with Allah is a sin against yourself, not against Him. He remains untouched by it.
Allah’s mercy is greater than any sin – The false scholars make it seem as if shirk is a special, untouchable sin that locks you out of Allah’s mercy forever. But we know from the Qur’an and Hadith that repentance wipes away all sins.
“Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Qur’an 39:53)
So why are they making you afraid, instead of making you hopeful?

Just like shirk, they talk about bid’ah (innovation) all the time. It’s their go-to argument for condemning any practice they don’t like.
They tell you that all bid’ah leads to hellfire, but they ignore the classical scholars who categorized bid’ah into good and bad types.
They attack celebrations like Mawlid (the Prophet’s birthday), dhikr gatherings, or even making du’a in a group—all of which have a basis in Islamic tradition.
They ignore the reality that Islam itself has always evolved, adapting to new circumstances while maintaining its core principles.
The Truth About Innovation
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself said that not all innovation is evil. There are good innovations that help people worship Allah better.
Imam Shafi’i explained that innovation can be good or bad, and that not all new practices are automatically sinful.
Everything in our daily life today is an innovation – The printing of the Qur’an? Innovation. The use of microphones in mosques? Innovation. Organizing Islamic lectures on the internet? Innovation. But are these bad? Of course not.
The real danger is in innovations that contradict the teachings of Islam, not in those that enhance devotion.
Why They Use These Tactics
1. To Keep You in a Constant State of Fear
If you’re always afraid that you might be committing shirk or bid’ah, you will become dependent on them for guidance. They make themselves the sole authority on what is right and wrong, leaving you helpless.
2. To Make You Feel Isolated
They discourage you from engaging with other Muslim communities and scholars. They label Sufis, scholars of Ahlul Bayt, and traditional Sunni scholars as “deviants” to prevent you from seeking a second opinion.
3. To Destroy Your Connection to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him)
They attack every expression of love for the Prophet—Mawlid, visiting his grave, praising him extensively—all of these are seen as dangerous innovations. They want to erase the emotional connection between you and the Prophet.
4. To Erase the Role of the Prophet’s Family
They never mention his family. They are uncomfortable when Imam Ali’s name is mentioned. They avoid speaking about Imam Hassan, Imam Hussain, and Sayyida Fatima—because to acknowledge them is to acknowledge the true inheritors of the Prophet’s light.
How to Protect Yourself from These Tactics
✔️ Understand that Allah’s mercy is greater than their fear tactics – No one owns Allah. No one can tell you that you are beyond His forgiveness.
✔️ Recognize the balance in Islam – True scholars teach hope and fear together, not just fear alone.
✔️ Question why they never mention the Prophet’s family – Why do they avoid the very people the Prophet loved the most?
✔️ Realize that not all innovation is evil – Islam has always evolved, and classical scholars never condemned all new practices.
✔️ Surround yourself with true scholars – Those who teach with light, with kindness, and with a love for the Prophet and his family.
Final Warning: They Are Leading Millions Astray
These people are not guiding you—they are controlling you. Their entire message is based on fear, isolation, and arrogance. They want to strip away the beauty of Islam and replace it with a harsh, rigid version that makes people lose hope in Allah’s mercy.
They are enemies of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) because they want to cut you off from his love, his mercy, and his family.
The next time you hear someone preaching about shirk or bid’ah—watch them carefully. Ask yourself:
Do they give you hope or just fear?
Do they mention the Prophet’s family?
Do they attack everyone but themselves?
Do they try to make you feel like you’re never good enough for Allah’s mercy?
If the answer is yes, then you have met an enemy of the Prophet, di
sguised as a guide.
It’s time to take back our faith. It’s time to return to the true light of Islam.
