nzserver.co is a New Zealand Mastodon instance covering business, commercial and personal accounts from Aotearoa.

NZ Server (Mastodon) is a self-hosted social media server. Federated servers are run by the users, for the users. We don’t do advertising, we won’t sell your data. Your data and your social network is yours, and always will be.

Running a self-hosted social media server isn’t free. Whilst your content may not be significant in itself, we need to host a copy of the local and remote media that you see in your home, local timelines, then multiply that for each user on the instance to create a federated timeline - it gets quite large, quite quickly. Moderation requires people to oversee and make judgements on what is and what isn't appropriate for our community.
