NuVoxel is Mike DeLuca's workshop for building things that are interesting, useful, or just fun. Some of it ships, some of it is open source, all of it starts with "I wonder if…" Based in the Bay Area.
What I'm building right now:
☕ MMKeypad — an in-wall touchscreen showing live album art and now-playing, with transport, volume, source, room announcements, and two-way intercom under your thumb. Runs on your LAN; works with Control4 and Home Assistant. The firmware and drivers are open source.
🧵 Filla IQ — open-source smart workshop inventory. NFC scanning, precision weighing, and spectral color detection to automatically identify and track filament spools, fasteners, and shop supplies.
☁️ CryingCloud — a blog and YouTube channel exposing cloud-pricing nonsense, with Azure cost-optimization tips that actually save money.
🛒 NuVoxel Shop — parts, supplies, and interesting finds on Shopify and eBay, hand-picked and carefully sourced. Also where hardware kits, Crying Cloud Merch, and other ideas are made available
Why buy me a coffee? Curiosity has a monthly bill — dev boards and PCBs that don't always work the first time, the AI tooling I lean on to move fast, and the odd 2 a.m. rabbit hole.
