Everyone it’s nurse Nay. I hope that you guys had a great January, it’s February now and time for your monthly mail. so I just wanna let you know a couple things that I’m working on. communicating with family and doctors can be really hard at first first, so I am coming up with lots of examples of how to talk to family and doctors. what to say when you’re calling a family after a patient has fallen, if they fell and got hurt, if she fell and just got a little skin tear, if she fell and needs an x-ray, if she was unconscious, she being the patient of course. examples about calling the doctor And different things. how to to tell a family that you started new medication, that she might’ve gotten hit by another patient, just lots of different things. so I am hoping to get that out to you guys soon. and also something else I wanna tell you guys an acronym that if you follow us on Instagram you heard a long time ago if you follow us on YouTube I just put this up yesterday. The acronym is for giving report to the oncoming nurse and it is cart. CART stands for changes, appointments, results and task or time. so this can really help you organize your report and help you not to forget things that may be important so. C stands for changes, A is appointments. R is results and T is task or time. so you wanna explain any changes that occurred for your patients, if they had a fall if they started a new medication or something. any appointments that they may have or Had, and results of different labs and then task/time. When was their last pain pill, given when is it next, when is their next IV due, they need a bladder scan because you removed their foley and what time would they need to do that. I’m hoping to come out with this for you guys. and also, if you didn’t know, I did provide a free download of the dos and don’ts of progress notes so you can check that out. and if you haven’t already if you can give a star rating for the products that you’ve downloaded that would be super awesome and I would really appreciate that. and that is all for this month if you guys have any questions or recommendations or something you want me to address let me know just email me and I’ll be happy to do my best to do that for you. so I hope you guys have a wonderful month and I will talk to you next month. Take care.
