New Visual Study Resource: Biology Brain Cheatsheet

May 10, 2026

Hi everyone,

We’ve just created a new colorful visual study resource for Biology students: a 10-page Brain Cheatsheet series designed to make one of the most complex topics in Biology easier, clearer, and more enjoyable to learn.

The brain can feel overwhelming because it connects so many ideas at once: structure, function, movement, sensation, memory, sleep, emotions, learning, and health. Instead of presenting the topic as long paragraphs of theory, this cheatsheet breaks the brain into simple facts, visual explanations, and student-friendly diagrams.

This set includes:

1. Brain Basics
A quick introduction to the brain as the body’s control center, including hemispheres, gray matter, white matter, neurons, and energy use.

2. Cerebrum & Lobes
A clear breakdown of the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes, along with their main roles in thinking, movement, language, vision, and memory.

image

3. Cerebellum & Brainstem
A student-friendly explanation of coordination, balance, posture, breathing, heart rate, alertness, and vital functions.

image

4. Neurons & Glial Cells
A visual guide to neurons, dendrites, axons, myelin, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, microglia, ependymal cells, and synapses.

image

5. Protection & Support
A look at the skull, meninges, cerebrospinal fluid, ventricles, blood-brain barrier, and the brain’s need for oxygen and glucose.

image

6. Sensory & Motor Areas
A colorful guide to the motor cortex, somatosensory cortex, visual cortex, auditory cortex, Broca’s area, Wernicke’s area, smell, taste, and association cortex.

image

7. Limbic System & Homeostasis
A simple overview of emotion, motivation, hippocampus, amygdala, thalamus, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, body clock, and reward pathways.

image

8. Synapses & Neurotransmitters
A visual explanation of action potentials, vesicles, synaptic clefts, receptors, acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, GABA, glutamate, and signal stopping.

image

9. Plasticity, Learning & Sleep
A helpful guide to neuroplasticity, practice, pruning, myelination, memory consolidation, REM sleep, NREM sleep, exercise, and enrichment.

image

10. Brain Health & Disorders
A clear introduction to stroke, concussion, epilepsy, meningitis, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, brain tumors, mental health, protection, and rapid care.

The goal of this resource is simple: make Biology easier to remember through visuals. Students often learn faster when diagrams, colors, icons, and short explanations work together. That’s why this series uses a 3D hand-drawn style, bright section boxes, friendly illustrations, and concise facts.

These cheatsheets can be used for:

Biology revision
Classroom displays
Student notebooks
Exam preparation
Quick topic review
Science learning resources
Visual learning support

We’ll continue creating more educational visuals like this for students, teachers, and parents.
