Just looking at how the paper handles different materials, how it feels to draw on, and whether these sketchbooks are suitable for everyday use, doodling, or more developed artwork.
This is very much a practical look at what you can expect from lower-cost sketchbooks. If you’re starting out with art returning to drawing after a break or simply trying to keep costs down then hopefully this will help you decide what’s worth picking up.
Because we do get through a lot of churny-churny drawings as we start our art journey - and in today's economy - it can really help to stretch out that budget.
