Hi, I’m Lauren and I’m a 30-something fuck up (Credit to Alexandra Potter - if you haven’t read her, you absolutely must.) For most of my life, I’ve tried to live up to everyone else’s expectations… and failed spectacularly. Education? Blah Relationships? Urgh Motherhood? Winging it Mental health? … Your guess is as good as mine! Somewhere along the way, I realised I’ve spent years trying to be who I should be instead of figuring out who I actually am. And honestly? That’s exhausting. Only recently have I had the audacity to start living life for me and it’s been wild, uncomfortable, freeing, and overdue all at once. At heart, I’m a creative. I always have been. But bills need paying and kids need feeding, and practicality has a way of crushing passion. I used to save whatever I could to fund little experiences that made me feel alive, books, workshops, trips, creative projects, but like everything else right now, money just doesn’t stretch the way it used to. So here I am. Instagram kept telling me to make a GoFundMe… so I listened. This isn’t about luxury. It’s about discovery. It’s about giving myself permission to explore who I am outside of survival mode. It’s about investing in growth, creativity, maybe a few slightly chaotic soul-searching adventures and seeing what happens.
