The Cocktail Lounge Privacy Policy

The Cocktail Lounge (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a free iOS app with no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. We designed it so that everything stays on your device (or in your personal iCloud account if you enable sync). This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the app and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect no personal information and have no servers that store your data.
User-Provided Content
Anything you enter or add stays under your control:
Your bar inventory (My Bar)
Custom recipes you create or save
Photos you choose to attach to recipes (via Photo Library)
Favorites and shopping lists
This content is stored only on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, it is also stored in your personal iCloud account.
No Developer-Collected Data
We do not collect device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, location data, or any other information about you. Any aggregate, non-identifying statistics Apple may show us in App Store Connect are controlled entirely by Apple and are never personal data we can access or use.
How Your Content Is Used
The only information involved in the app is content you voluntarily enter or add yourself:
Your bar inventory (My Bar)
Custom recipes you create or save
Photos you choose to attach to recipes
Favorites and shopping lists
This content stays on your device (or in your personal iCloud account if you enable sync). It is used only to power the features you see in the app:
Managing your personal bar inventory, recipes, favorites, and shopping lists
Generating recipe suggestions with on-device Apple Intelligence
Displaying any photos you attach to recipes
We never receive, store, or have access to this content. It is not collected by us in any way.
On-Device Processing
Privacy is built into the design:
Recipe suggestions run entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence.
Your bar inventory, recipes, favorites, shopping lists, and any photos you attach remain on your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.
No content is sent to us or to any third-party service we control.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
You decide whether your data syncs across your Apple devices:
When enabled, your data is synced through Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit service.
Your synced data is governed by Apple’s iCloud Privacy Policy.
If you have Advanced Data Protection turned on in your Apple ID settings, your iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in the app’s Settings. Turning it off stops new syncing but does not automatically delete existing data from iCloud (you can manage or delete that data in your Apple ID settings).
Data Sharing
We do not share your information with third parties except in these limited cases:
Apple Services — When you use iCloud sync or Apple Intelligence features, the data is handled by Apple under their privacy policies. We have no access to it.
Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
We do not sell your data. We have no advertising partners or analytics partners.
Data Retention and Deletion
Data on your device stays there until you delete it inside the app or uninstall the app.
Data in iCloud (if you enabled sync) is retained according to Apple’s policies until you delete it or remove it from iCloud.
You can delete individual recipes, favorites, photos, or clear your entire bar inventory at any time inside the app.
Because we hold no user data on our side, there is nothing for us to delete if you contact us. Any request will simply confirm that fact.
Your Choices and Controls
Photo Library — You control whether the app can access your photos. Grant or revoke permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. The app only uses this access when you deliberately choose a photo to attach to a recipe.
iCloud Sync — Toggle on or off in the app’s Settings. You can also manage the data directly in your Apple ID settings.
Data Deletion — Delete items or clear data anytime inside the app.
App Privacy Report — Review the app’s access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → App Privacy Report.
No account or login is required to use The Cocktail Lounge.
Children’s Privacy
The Cocktail Lounge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will help address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted in the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
