Dear Friends,
We did it!!! My third Kindle omnibus is finally published!!!
You can find it here:
First, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to everyone who helped me choose the cover!
Your votes were so divided that I ended up doing something a little different.
I decided to give the Kindle edition, paperback, and hardcover three different covers!
And of course, I saved the one featuring my beloved samurai for the hardcover. That one feels especially like me!
But what I'm most excited to share with you isn't the cover.
It's what's inside.
On March 11, 2011, Japan was struck by a devastating earthquake and tsunami.
In our darkest hours, American service members came to help us.
They called it Operation Tomodachi.
Tomodachi means "friend" in Japanese.
And that is exactly what they were.
They came from across the ocean, putting themselves at risk to save people they had never met, in a country that wasn't their own.
I have never forgotten that kindness.
And I never will.
This book includes that extraordinary story, along with many other stories celebrating American heroes, ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage, and the sports adventures of my wandering samurai!
You can explore the new collection here:
But there's more!
I've also included follow-up stories, behind-the-scenes details, and special columns exploring what Japanese people are really like.
Many of these stories and details have never appeared in my regular X posts.
I wanted to give you something more than a collection of posts.
Something you could sit down with, enjoy, laugh at, think about, and perhaps even remember long after turning the final page.
Kindle Unlimited should also become available soon, so even if you'd just like to give it a try, that alone would make me incredibly happy!
I began writing these stories because I wanted to share the things that moved my heart.
The kindness of strangers.
The courage of ordinary people.
The unexpected friendships between Japan and America.
And somehow, along the way, so many of you became part of my own story.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for encouraging me. And thank you for making it possible for a Japanese writer to share his little stories with the world.
If this book can make you smile after a long day, remind you of something good in humanity, or make your world feel just a little brighter, then I couldn't ask for anything more.
From Japan, with gratitude and friendship.
May your days be filled with a little more laughter, kindness, and light.
Here's the book, one more time:
