Arrived to Sardegna!

immagine

We go off the plane and while passing the security line a guy stopped us and asked us if we were coming from blablabla or Katowice; so he stopped us and asked for our passports... Which was funny because he spoke Italian the whole time and didn't realize we were understanding him, I guess, well, as much as our Spanish and Italian allowed us haha. Well, he checks our passports and so, and I guess in the randomly selected lottery of a security control, we won, they didn't check anyone else. After some minutes he lets us go, we go to the car rental and the line was large, just for this car rental haha, but after a while it was evident that the people working there was veeery slow! So after waiting for an hour or so we go to pick up the car and ready for the beach!

immagine

We go to our first accommodation that was supposed to be a cozy cabin, close to the beach where we were planning on going today, the car is amazing, we love it, and we decided to rent a 4x4 because the terrain in the island to arrive certain beaches is heavy-duty. So we arrive to the place and we are told that we got an upgrade... Oh yay! Yay? Well, off we go lalala and turns out that the upgrade didn't really feel like an upgrade, also the whole place was very annoying in general and I was so moody I was ashamed. Anyway, luckily for us it was only one night and in reality we're only sleeping there and then bye... Wait for it, dumbass.

We go to the beach and finally up for some relaxing time, Google tell us to take a certain road, 25min to reach, we are like mmm well ok we thought we were really close? But anyway we took it and it's this safari all-terrain valleys and pounds on the road you pray they're not deeper than your wheels hahaha... And it kept increasing its difficulty each 100 meters... Well, we decided, you know what? let's better take another road and we went to the main road and chan chan chachan... 5 min to the beach... Well... But it was a fun experience!

immagine

We reached the beach and parked, we kinda forgot some stuff because of all the moodiness and let's get out of this place asap vibe we had. But ok, we have the sand, we have the sea and we have the sun! We reached the beach, that was pretty empty, we took really really nice pictures!

After a while, the sun sets and we decide to go eat, notice how I didn't mention any food? Yeah we had forgotten to eat the whole day except for a coffee and a croissant in Katowice's Airport. So we walked what seemed to be a longer path than what we used to reach the beach (it wasn't, it was the same path). And then drove towards the city to have some dinner.

immagine

We reached a top-rated place and asked if we could eat there and the waitress said we could wait but there's a couple before us. We decide to wait. By the time we got a seat, there were other 5 couples waiting in line! By the time we finished eating, only another couple was seated! It was crazy, but worth it! The food was amazing and while waiting we decided to post a picture from earlier today as a collaboration and it was just awesomely received! It is Dan's most liked picture since he lost his main account and well... It is my most liked picture past, present, future xD - we were very happy and humbled about it. It had like 500 likes in less than 20 min! It was really exciting! And for that we thank you!

immagine

We finished eating and go to the non-photogenic cabin, there was no soap but we knew and we stopped to buy some before leaving the beach. We arrive, and turns out there's no AC and if you want it's 30€ for 24h and we were like nope... F this place! So we just slept with the windows open... It wasn't really bad.

We also were told the check out was at 9am, tell me these guys don't just hate humanity? So we set an alarm at 8:30 and left almost everything ready.

--

Dan decided to snooze the alarm, then we had some cold coffee we bought and drink it while eating some cake we had also bought the day before. And, lo and behold, at 8:50 was a random guy at our door, I opened it, naked and with a semi, he looks at me, looks down, stares, look at me again and down again, and then tells me we need to leave before 9. So we start rush-finish-packing everything and leave the place, so yeah WORST PLACE EVER. But with all our belongings all over the place in the car and everything a mess, I was anyway very glad to be leaving that place! And I really wasn't sure to write about this part because it is not my idea to trash this place but whatever!

Now we drive west, 2hrs drive says Google. The drive was really nice and we had time to kill anyway because check-in in the other place started at 1 and since we were thrown out of the other place by 9 we had a lot of time! So we drove and then stopped in a small coffee place to have some coffee and some sandwich. We do that and then leave towards the hotel because we thought well, we go there and if we can't check in we leave the luggage and then go to the beach...

At the place, we couldn't check in so we leave the luggage, as expected in the previous paragraph, xD.

We then go to fill up the tank and buy some beach supplies; and a beach umbrella. Pro Tip: if you're staying in a beach place for some days always buy the umbrella thingy in a shop and then you can just leave it to someone else last beach day! It's way cheaper than renting them on-location (Yes, yes I just saved you hundreds of dollars!).

And now we realize it's almost 1 so we go back to the hotel, that was still close and check in. We do that and leave to the beach, finally!

Drive was pretty quick, parking was not haha. The only available spot was meant for a big car, like we had, and an experienced 4x4 driver, which we didn't have! But eventually after 7 tries we managed!

immagine

Then we walk towards the beach and when we reached it, it was very lonely and nice, only a few people. The beach was pretty amazing and the water here is Jav-can-actually-go-in temperature. We took several swims then we took some pictures, while I was taking Dan's pictures, he was on a rock and I was on the water. Then I feel something bit me... I calmingly freak out because I'm taking pictures first, haha. Then after 2 min i feel another bite. And I'm like well what is that aaahh... Anyway we stop taking pictures I already got great shots and fishes are getting too aggressive!

When I'm out I notice I'm bleeding and I'm like well... But in general wasn't that bad, I'm more ok with weird things happening to me by the sea now and the water was worth the bite hahaha...

After a while we start walking towards the other locations around, we mostly took pictures there and didn't stay too long because the sun was setting already!

We go eat to a place that was nearby and it was very bland food haha... Then we went back to the hotel, showered and went to bed.

--

I woke up at 9 am!!! As usual, I wait for Dan to wake up but this time I managed to fall asleep again so we ended up waking up around 10:30. We go down to have breakfast; that was included in the booking and we didn't know! The coffee was amazing, the breakfast part was a croissant so that was funny, but also that's like what we usually would have for breakfast so it was funny, the included breakfast might have felt like a joke for other people.

After breakfast we go back to the room to get ready for the beach and right before leaving we decided to stop by the hotel restaurant to have another coffee.

And afterward we started driving to the ferry port where we should take the ferry to go to the other island.

We reach the ferry port, buy the ticket and ask the woman there until what time we can come back and she says 4 am, however in the pamphlet it says 19:45 so we're left with the doubt.

immagine

When we arrive the other side, we drive towards the beach and then realize there's nothing there so we drive back to find a supermarket where to buy supplies for the beach day. We bought some aperol, of course!

So we reach the parking and start walking towards the beach, as apparently usual in Italy, every gay beach requires a lot of stamina to reach them!

immagine

So we walk a lot and reach it. Turns out gay stuff is too mainstream nowadays! So yeah beach was full of straight couples! And even family with children. Like why do you make your kids walk all that way? Jz!

We settle and start drinking and enjoying the sun! We go into the beach and Dan jumps from a cliff to the water.

immagine

Day was pretty uneventful. Until, I get sting by a wasp... Our aperol was attracting a lot of them and they were chill until one of them decided she wanted to sting me. So, day two of Italy where I'm harmed by nature. Any way, Dan sucked me off..the poison. And it really didn't bothered me that much.

We go for a walk and by the time we come back it was already time to start packing, or wasn't it? We asked people and they say all night, 19:45, until 4 am! So we're like ok better safe than sorry... so we packed our things and headed towards the parking. We drove to the ferry and the guy there says last one is this one and we're like oh ok...

On the other side we reach a place to eat and after having a really good spicy pasta we go back to the hotel. Parking was full and the few spaces available were too tight for our car so we ended up parking outside the hotel.

We take a shower and then sleep!

--

I woke up around 9 again and despite all my efforts to fall asleep again, nope. So around 10 we go for breakfast and after finished packing to move to another hotel a bit more south.

Drove for 1 hour and reached the beach we were not really aiming for! Because Dan was busy renting something for tomorrow and we didn't put the destination on the map.

But here we're now in a beach that is also frequented by gays but it's pretty much lonely and we had to walk for 30 min to reach!

At the beach, we prepared our umbrella and stuff and ready to prepare us some aperols and when opening the prosecco we found out these had corks! So, using our engineering skills, not, we decided to use a stick we had to apply pressure and sink the cork onto the bottle. Dan wasn't very optimistic but I knew he was strong enough, push, push, harder, harder, aaahs... We made it!

immagine

We went into the water several times. I was lucky enough to not been of interest to any animal today! The water was amazing; super nice to swim. We were very tempted to try kite surfing but I'm not the one to leave my stuff unattended for long hehe, also I'm very scared of doing dangerous stuff, unless it's to take a pic for Dan, some would say hahaha...

We spent the whole day at the beach and then headed back to the parking lot. Another 30 min walk. We reached the car and started driving to the hotel. Which had a weird note saying check-in was from 7 to 9 am. And I was really hoping that was an error.

We reached the hotel and it was a whole resort thingy (which I'm not into when you're spending only one night). We had to park out of the resort, then walk to the reception, then in the reception a mini-car drove us to the room. The room was nice, air conditioning was included! So we left our stuff there and then went for dinner. Long time ago the car was already saying please fill me, but I believed there were still around 30km on it!

Went to a place to eat by the beach and ordered some sea food that was ok. I'm not picky or need anything fancy but I get the dish description in my head is way better than what they usually are. I should stop asking for an English menu and instead ask for a menu with images!

immagine

While walking back to the car, a bird poo'd over Dan, whahaha! But we managed to get some wet napkins from the restaurant and cleaned it. Back in the hotel, it took us a while finding our room! Eventually found it and we took a shower, watched some football that was apparently a 50+ league x.x and so we turned the TV off because we needed the plug to charge one of our phones!

Took a shower and then we proceeded to apply cream all over each other's bodies, rawr. Then we fell asleep. Mind we had to wake up around 8 tomorrow so we get the most of the boat we were renting!

--

We wake up and gathered our stuff and went to the boat renting place. We found a good parking place and while leaving, luckily, saw a woman checking if the cars paid for the parking and so we realized we had to pay! I mean we parked on the street so it wasn't that clear, ok yes, we're also dumb.

Evidently, 20 meter before reaching the boat renting place, we remembered that we needed cash for a deposit, so Dan walks towards the ATM and then it doesn't allow you to get cash with your phone, again. So he walks back to the car to get the card, then get the money. Here I feel a bit uhg because we left the car in the street with all our belongings, so it's not smart opening the back and let people see there's stuff there. But this island has felt very secure so far...

So we rent the boat!

immagine

We had to go 50 min to reach the last spot on the map and it was supposed to be impossible to miss because the structure... So around 25 min we reach a structure that looked exactly the same, we were unsure if this was the right place but we lowered the anchor and stayed there a bit. Dan went to reach the coast (you had to anchor minimum 100m from the shore) and then back. Ah, this time we decided to buy beers. We had a beer and enjoyed the views

immagine

After this we decided to start going backwards and then suddenly Dan checked the map and we realized we were barely half way. So we go forward again! Hahaha...

When we reach the actual spot, we anchored again and started drinking and hearing some music and we see a guy was climbing the aforementioned hard-to-miss structure and we were like wow! Suddenly like 5 min of seeing this guy not moving from the same place we hear a helicopter coming and we were like ooh f! however, the helicopter was not meant for the guy! Hahaha...

immagine

So this helicopter comes and we got front seats to a rescue mission! They hover on top of the coast and then two guys start descending on a line and land on the beach and dunno what else happened there haha! Ah! This particular area needed us to stay 200m from the shore. It was fun!

Afterwards we go to another beach and to some other interesting places, of course we took pictures and they will be available soon in your closest favorite instagram feed.

We went very far from the shore and recorded a boat video for Dan's that will be available where you imagine. Now here's a funny story,.......... And then when I went to clean myself in the water i was super scared thinking my unborn babies were going to attract some predator xD - safe to say the video was very hot! And I'm still alive.

After that we decide it's already time to go back, we needed to drive around two hours to the next destination.

We deliver the boat, all's good. We put on our shorts and headed to the car. And so it was finally time to fill the tank!

We fill the tank and head towards the big city, the capital, where boys go to make their dreams come true in Sardinia!

Drove for about 3 hours and then reached the hotel. It was ok to park around so we didn't have to pay the extra parking fee mweheh! The hotel was really nice and everything went well with the check-in. We entered the room and realized this was the hotel with a fully green bathroom!

By this time we just take a shower and go for some dinner, took a taxi just in case we were drinking too much, lol. We had a nice dinner by the city center and then went to the gay club; or what we thought was the gay club.

Absolutely nothing, no music, no people. Nothing. It was sad. Daniel decided to drawn his sadness in an icecream. So he got himself an icecream. Then we went to the hotel to sleep.

--

Ok I guess today is Friday! It feels good to know you don't have to f change hotels anymore! And we're in the big city, well... The city.... Ok, the big town?

We wake up and go for breakfast in our hotel; that we don't have to change again! Ukraina's Beach Volleyball team was there. The buffet was not buffet because of covid or something and we had to ask to a lady what we wanted her to put in our plates. I ask for a croissant and point to it. The woman says what? A bread? And gets me a tiny piece of bread, notice that this bread was ON THE OTHER SIDE FROM WHERE I POINTED. I say no, a croissant but leave the bread, points the croissant, and then she's like what a sandwich? You want a sandwich and I'm like well ok i already said a croissant and she didn't understand, what to do? I ask Dan what's the name of it? Omg... Then the lady says, a toast? And Dan is like yeah maybe a toast? And I'm like ok am I crazy? Ok sure a toast! Then she starts preparing me a grilled cheese sandwich and I'm like nooo, I want one of thoseeeee! And she's like aaaah a croissant! x.x dies ...Then I ordered two cappuccinos and got two cappuccinos, feels good.

immagine

We ate and went to the room to get ready for our adventure! The plan today was to go to the closest to the city Beach and see what's up.

The gay beach is in front of a gay bar so it sounded promising. Well, in front of the gay beach was actually a dog beach. And to each side, families and stuff... So no gay beach at all! We stay there a bit and decided to go to a beach that looked amazing, and you needed to hike a little bit to reach. It's also a nudist beach!

immagine

Usually we have a backpack, the umbrella and a cooler bag full with drinkable stuff. Today it was specially heavier. But we walked in what we believe was the path, it was not, and we reached the top of the mountain and we're like omg how are we going to reach the beach? Which we could see from there! And then eventually kinda found a path that was downhill but a bit hardcore! We finally reach the main path and eventually the beach.

We settled and went to the beach because it was very hot! The view was lovely and it was very nice, chill atmosphere.

immagine

After a while we start walking throughout the rocks by the beach and then there's a part where the water was in the way so we had to walk this dangerous path. Here, we decided it was maybe too dangerous and better to turn back. And then, I slipped and cut my toe, I have no toe. Hahaha nono. It's just cut. Used to be uncut. Ok well it's a normal wound, sorry for putting an uncut toe image in your head. But it was bleeding like crazy and my flip-flop was full of blood and the rocks, everywhere!

So I, mainly thinking on Dan, brought bandaids to the beach today... And well, teehee.

Then we just have a drink, and afterwards Dan goes to the beach and I'm like oh I would like to. But I wasn't sure, so I start walking towards the other side and then at some point I'm like ok I can try swimming from here to where Dan is, but my cut top, I mean toe, was not having it. So I just get out of the water and walk back.

After a while my toe was used to the pain so it was ok to go into the water and we go and Dan jumped from a big Rock and afterwards we took some pictures.

Since we were in some sort of cliff, the sun hid quite early and to be honest we were very tired and hurt so we just decide to start walking back. Toe no likes. But at least this time we managed to follow the actual path, that was much easier and quick!

We get to the car and drive back to the hotel, take a shower and then a nap!

Today we were really into eating some pizza so we go to the city center and according to Google, the pizza place right in front of the gay bar was very good, so we go there.

The pizza place didn't have tables outside but the lady told us that we can just seat in the gay bar's tables because they do collabs. Table for table, no?

You had to order the drinks from the gay bar and order the pizzas from the pizza place, easy. Interestingly my pizza didn't really feel like I was eating a pizza... It was too original? Haha like the dough was different, it didn't have tomato sauce and it had parmessan cheese instead of mozzarella but it was good anyway!

After eating we go to what's supposed to be the gay club, which was completely empty yesterday and hoped since it's Friday maybe today is better. It was not. There was more people yesterday to a total of four, and two were waitresses. Today really nothing. So, Sardinia's gay life returned a code 404.

We go back to the hotel to sleep.

--

Saturday and pretty much our last day in Sardinia! We're going to one of the best gay beaches in Cagliari! Or maybe one of the best beaches in Cagliari that also has a gay zone. We had to drive 40 min to reach there and plus the stop to buy supplies, took us around 1 hr.

On the way there, we see a couple on the road with a sign and I'm like should we pick them? And Dan said yes and so we did! They were super lovely. And they were students and, funnily, they were polish! I swear. So, like everybody else, they asked us what the heck were we doing in Katowice, haha. They were heading to a beach further than where we were going so we just left them when we parked and they were ready to keep hitchhiking.

I think that's the first time we ever pick up someone on the road. And hitchhiking was something we kinda always wanted to do ourselves but never really had the balls to do it haha. So it was funny to hear their experience. Basically they were going to take the bus but it was full and just left them.

Anyway, we go to the beach and it looks amazing! And then we go to the gay part of the beach, like a 20 min walk through rocks... The beach was full of rocks and it was basically really bad. A couple of guys, maybe. Day was very windy and our umbrella didn't really have a good support so it was a bit annoying. We had a drink and then Dan goes to the water, cuts himself like in three different places because of the rocks and then comes back; not very deep cuts or anything.

immagine

Afterwards Dan walks a bit further to see around and comes back without one flip-flop... And to be honest I'm not sure how they've lasted so long. I think only one beach was easy to reach of all the five or six we went to. And the boat.

immagine

Well now we decide it's maybe time to go and maybe move to the beach that's closer to the city. Just before leaving there was a guy selling stuff and we found some beach shoes for Dan.

We drive to the beach, the one that has a dog park in from of the gay bar. And stay there for some hours, had our drinks and went swimming. Ah and watched the dogs retrieving the balls their owners threw.

Day was very windy so the umbrella pretty much didn't make it. We had to throw it in the garbage hehe. But it was our last day anyway!

We decided to head back to the hotel but before we had to take the car to the car wash because it was really dirty. So we go there first. Self service and to pay we only had a 20, it costed 6 and the change was in coins of 1, funny.

Car's looking good. We drive now to the hotel and take a shower, we were both ultra tired, considered maybe yolo and go for a walk in the city or take a nap, we chose the nap, obviously. But after 30 min of none of us really able to fall asleep we just decided to get ready and go for dinner.

This time I decided to see the images in Google maps before making any decision and we find this nice place by the coast, also the moon was beautiful! We go there and they're like do you have a reservation? And we're like ahmm nope... So the guy is like mm we're full, but let me see, so after a bit, he gets us a table and we're like Woop-Woop.

immagine

Food was nice but forgettable. Seriously, good I'm not writing some eating-out blog hahaha...

And after the food we go to the gay bar by the beach that was going to have a party with drag show today. So that's like our ultimate hope of finding some gay life in Sardinia...

We reached the bar and it's quite full, but of people eating and stuff and even old straight couples hahaha.... So we're like I mean what were we really expecting. Show was supposed to start at 22:00 but it did not. So around 23:00 it started, some people left and some other arrived.

It was an ok show and and overall ok place but really very disappointing in general. So after the drag show was over it was time for a DJ and dance party... And then suddenly all the gays arrived and also lesbians and I guess straight people too! The place was packed. It was a long queue to buy alcohol and the music was really good. So Sardinia's gay life decided to show, and it really didn't disappoint. It was very fun!

Around 2:30 we decided it was time to go to the hotel because we had to get things ready to drive to the airport in the morning.

And so next day just travel back to Norway.
