Backstory

I'd say I was late to the vibe coding and AI assisted development hype, I used the copilot tab autocomplete but that was about it for the longest time.

Other than that I'm the worst frontend developer known to man, I suck at CSS and weirdly enough my HTML even sucks at some points.

My gift to myself

Last month I bought myself a gift, a Cursor subscription, where I eventually fell in love with it's best feature (for me), the integrated browser. This allowed me to finally tell an agent what's wrong with my frontend, without me having to type out the bible to define exactly the button I need.

This was well worth the 20 euro's to me, the models weren't as good as something like Anthropic and the usage went faster than I could've ever imagined, but it worked great.

I finally didn't need to ask a frontend developer to fix my designs with every small change I made, I didn't have to run git reset --hard because the agent tried to change every button on the entire site.

My experience with Claude

I got a Claude pro subscription recently and was shocked, the models felt a lot snappier and more useful than the Grok models, the CLI was very useful and has a lot of features I did like (like the remote control so I didn't have to use the CLI)

But I kept missing my features from Cursor like the integrated browser, pull request view and multiple agents at the same time.

My solution

I bit the bullet and started fully vibe coding my own solution for this problem, Looking-Glass started of as a really small and crappy electron application, it just had a giant input box and a integrated browser which allowed me to have a element picker which copied some context to my clipboard so that I can ask Claude which element I wanted to change.

After moving the scope up a lot of times (like 10 times) I eventually landed on a tool I primarily use now instead of the Claude CLI, with an integrated PR viewer, browser and agents next to each other, spawning multiple agents for multiple browser changes.

This finally allowed me to have the best of both worlds, the bigger and better models from Anthropic with the UX I fell in love with from Cursor, I won't be cancelling my Cursor subscription for this (as the Grok bot is still amazing and something I won't even dream of trying to re-create).

Footnote

Yes, this application was vibe-coded, from an earlier version of this application. If you ever see me creating "pretty" UI it was most likely fine tuned from this application. Yes it isn't signed on Windows or MacOS (I don't have 100 euro's laying around).

But if you plan to use it, feel free to shoot me a DM on discord (@nietthijmen) or create an issue with something that you want to change or any bugs you find.
