AU$5/місяцьThe recidivism rate in Australia, that is to say the percentage of people who return to jail within two years of release, is a shocking 53.1%. The sad reality is that most people currently in jail, anywhere in the world, should either be at home or in rehab.

I am convinced that if we stop sending people to jail for minor offences, and start addressing the root causes of anti-social behaviour - trauma and poverty - then we have a lever with which we can change our entire society. Rehabs not prison.
