I wanted to introduce myself because I feel like true introductions have started becoming a little harder to come by.
My name is Nick. I am a husband, father of four, and own / operate my own design and development agency in Ontario Canada. I’ve recently started writing articles on Medium to help share my experiences as both a designer and Ui developer, and business owner in hopes to help others learn from my experiences and to grow a community of like minded people.
I began web design and development in college (Durham) but life got in the way and I decided to put that on hold. Two years later I picked up, moved to the Kawarthas and found my first job as a designer here. This was a great learning opportunity but it really shaped the path I took and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Years later I have worked for a half dozen agencies and decided to open my own. I’m married to a wonderful woman, and we just had our 4th child a few months ago. My life can be busy, but nothing makes you feel like you’re accomplishing good things in life than raising children and helping business owners realize the solutions to their problems using design.
As I’m writing this I am slowly understanding why people don’t do this often…
