I loved your treatment of Disturbed’s edition of the “The Sound of Silence”. I haven’t heard such vocal passion since Meat Loaf died.
I recently listened to about twenty of the top songs of Simon & Garfunkel. The symphonic genius of this body of work is incredible. I hear a hopeless, lonely, dysphoric melancholy in secular life without friends, love, or salvation that culminates in Mrs Robinson and the “S of S”. Then comes the opus magnus in “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”, which strongly suggests salvation by a savior.
