Hey 👋
I am a writer in Northern Minnesota. I write about a lot of things, mostly my dog and my kids, sometimes my husband, and sometimes my job, which is in education. Mostly though, I think about what it means to be a lady leader in "this day and age," my unique childhood and the lessons I learned from it (in fact: Neepernu is the nickname my dad gave me, and I still use it when I can), and what living with anxiety is like for me.
I have a blog where I write things, and I love to chat with people who have different- and similar- experiences, and different - and similar- ways of thinking about the world. I started the blog looking to kill two birds with one stone: 1) Get all of these thoughts out of my brain and into the world, in case someone might get a chuckle (or maybe... maybe even to help someone?) and 2) to pay off my student loans, which are bananas (did you know that to become a principal, you have to have two master's degrees?).
After becoming a principal, I realized that if I wanted to keep working at the small school which I love dearly, I needed to find a way to monetize my very limited spare time. I cataloged my limited skill set, my introverted tendencies, and my interests and thought... I mean, okay. I could try writing.
So, if you like what I write and would like me to continue, or if you support educators and want to help someone stay in a job that they love, feel free to buy me a cup of coffee.
