Well… We’re Back

Well… We’re Back

So it has been quite a while since I blogged.

Today is more of a summary of the past several weeks, and I’m sure there will be more reflective posts later on once I’ve had time to really process everything that’s happened.

I never planned to go this long without posting, but honestly… I also didn’t want to write about the challenges while we were still living in the middle of them without knowing how this new adventure would turn out in the end.

There has been a lot going on.

After a lot of thought, we decided to part ways with our original workcamp situation. In the end, it just wasn’t the right fit for either party, and sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is recognize that and move forward.

After that, we spent four days at a state park, which honestly felt like a much-needed reset. A little quiet. A little breathing room. A chance to regroup.

Then came six straight days of prepping and painting the bus.

And let me tell you… she has a whole new skin now and she is SO pretty. ✨🚍

It was a ton of work, but seeing her transformed made it worth every sore muscle and paint-covered moment.

At the same time, reality also kicked in. Diesel prices are absolutely ridiculous right now, so we made the decision to head back toward the Chippewa Valley for a while instead of continuing farther out.

Thankfully, things started falling into place again.

Mike was able to find a cooking position as a workcamper, and I found outside income that helped replenish the stash that carried us through three pretty uncertain weeks.

And now?

We are finally starting to settle back in and get our footing again.

We’re staying at a peaceful little campground on a small lake, and honestly, after everything the last few weeks threw at us, the calm feels really good.

It’s funny how quickly life can humble you, redirect you, challenge you… and then gently remind you that you’re still capable of figuring it out.

So while things may have gone differently than we originally planned, we’re still here.

Still rolling.
Still learning.
Still building this life one adjustment at a time.

And now that things are settling again… more regular updates are coming soon. 🐾
