Sometimes I make myself laugh at how sad my reality is.
Scene 1:
Imagine you're sitting at your desk, playing an online game with a friend. There are familiar sounds of air defence working outside. Then suddenly the server gets disconnected. You grumble, restart your router once, twice, it doesn't help. You try calling customer support for your provider, but they don't pick up. You get annoyed and keep calling. Frustrating, isn't it? I'm sure we've all been there at least once. Then, news update: a drone hit your internet provider's main office.
Oh... Ha-ha... That'll do it.
(The Internet was restored in 20 min, with an apology, by the way)
Scene 2:
Imagine you're sitting at your desk with a screwdriver, trying to fix your headphones, all concentrated and stuff. There are familiar sounds of air defence working outside, of course. Then a flash of light! "Oh, did we finally get nuked?" you think and open the Telegram chat to see what's going on. "Relax, people, it's just thunder, geez!" the chat says.
I'm still sitting here laughing at it.
Seriously, though, ask any Ukrainian, including soldiers from the front lines - thunder is much scarier for some reason than the actual explosions. Brains are weird.
