About the New Blog Topic

Jun 06, 2024

Hello, my dear people! Recently on Twitter, I promised to share stories about Ukrainian heroes. These stories will highlight both women and men who are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine. Not all of them are soldiers, but each one contributes significantly to our victory and the development of our country.

Initially, I had doubts about starting this because my audience is small, and I'm not as skilled at storytelling as major media outlets. But I believe in the power of small steps and hope that this will help more people learn about and remember the great heroes of Ukraine.

Why am I doing this?

First, because I am Ukrainian, and it hurts me deeply to see so many young people dying! Those who care and are ready to give their all for the country are the first to go. I want people to know about them.

Second, I recently gave birth to a daughter. I started thinking about what would happen if her generation forgets our history. Russia has been terrorizing us throughout our history, aiming to erase our past and thus, our future. Without knowledge of the past, there’s nothing to fight for, and we just disappear.

I want to share as much information as possible with my daughter. To tell her about the past (which I didn't know) and the painful present we are living through. I hope this will help her understand our values clearly and distinguish right from wrong.

Third, unfortunately, we are getting used to the war and its pain. We get used to the shelling, bad news, and daily losses. It is painful but becomes normal. I hope that by sharing these stories, we can all stay connected to reality and remind ourselves that this cannot continue. We also have the right to a peaceful, happy life without war, and these people deserved to live their bright youth, not die in our soil.

What format?

I will use three formats: text, audio, and live Twitter broadcasts during #recoverywalk. Text and audio will mostly be the same so you can choose your preferred format to immerse in the stories. During live broadcasts, we can discuss the latest posts together.

I want to help our military more, so each new issue will focus on one of the fundraisers. Many people in Ukraine are raising funds. Among my acquaintances alone, there are about seven active fundraisers that I trust and that will definitely reach their destination. Let's help them together <3

Support

I ask you to give feedback on my posts, comment here, on Twitter, or any platform where I share audio. It is important for more people to learn about our heroes.

While I'm working on the first story, let's come up with a hashtag for this new blog topic. What should we call it?

Fundraiser for the Needs of the Ukrainian Army

Let's not delay fundraising. I ask you to support my friend with the call sign Baptist. He is only 20 years old and has already been through the fiercest battles in Bakhmut and Avdiivka. We have helped him several times already.

This fundraiser feels like it has been going on forever (since the beginning of spring). So, I decided to open a jar to help him. My goal is to raise 50,000 UAH. The sooner we collect, the more lives we save. This is the golden rule of fundraising.

Remember, there are no small contributions. Every cent counts.

Spreading the word is also crucial. The more people know, the faster we can meet our goal.

P.S.: I finally have the strength to continue helping the military, so there will be more fundraisers. They will be ongoing. If you can contribute with money or by spreading the word, I thank you in advance!

So, dear community, I await your thoughts on the new blog topic and ideas for the name in the comments 👇
