Mustard Seed is an iOS app designed to solve the unnecessary complexity of long-term financial planning, in a personal format and at an affordable price.

We chose the name Mustard Seed because it reflects how we see money. A mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds in nature, yet given time, it grows into a great tree that provides shade and benefits to others. We believe wealth works the same way. Small investments, allowed to grow over time, can create life-changing wealth that blesses your life, and the lives of future generations. 

Your financial future is shaped one small decision at a time. Mustard Seed turns those decisions into a clear picture, revealing how money, interest, and time can work for you. This allows you to create a clear vision for the future.

The challenge is, most tools make this harder than it needs to be. Often financial planning tools are filled with jargon, cluttered, and poorly designed. This creates unnecessary complexity and barriers to basic and powerful money principles. Mustard Seed solves this complexity through intuitive design.

Privacy

Based on this mission, we believe personal finance should be personal and therefore, private.

In today’s world, most software asks users to trade privacy for a free product. Instead of paying with money, we pay with our data. Our most personal information sits on someone else’s servers so other companies can use it to manipulate us. When it comes to data as sensitive as your entire financial roadmap, the idea of that data being sold or leaked is a complete non-starter for us.

Mustard Seed stores your data exclusively on your device, by default. This means that nobody can ever buy, steal, or access your data. You own the app, and you own your data. With Mustard Seed, your data belongs exclusively to you.

Affordability

Mustard Seed is a one-time purchase of $9.99. We deeply believe that access to financial planning tools should be affordable for everyone and offer exceptional value. We chose this pricing model because we wanted to make a tool that was affordable for everyone. 

We chose this over a subscription based model, because we dislike the financial impact that subscriptions have on users budgets over time. If you pay $9.99 a month for 40 years, it adds up to $4,795.20. But the true cost is much higher. If you invested $9.99 a month at 10% a year, you’d have over $60,000 in 40 years. That’s the real cost of subscribing to an app over time. With Mustard Seed, you could save $59,990. 

We want Mustard Seed to help you save for your future, not take away from it.
