I was having a conversation with a fellow songwriter a couple of weeks ago, and he has started preparing for the upcoming FAWM friendly challenge. He is thinking of using AI as a collaborator with lyrics, which is actually a really neat idea.
I on the other hand am thinking about the physical tech that I want to use during recording. I have always been a fan of DIY (Do-It-Yourself) recordings, and I find the restraints to actually be very helpful in fueling creativity.
I tried to participate in FAWM earlier this year, I didn’t get far, but what I did get is an idea of how to approach the 2025. I took an older laptop that I had, installed Linux on it, was using Audacity as the main software to record the input. I still have that machine, and I think I will use it for this next FAWM as well.
Its going to be pretty cool, I have not decided if I too want to experiment with having an AI co-creator or not, but I’m a fan of the idea of using tools to help you make things better or fill in certain skills that you may not have. We shall see.
