The islands we have visited are on the East side of the Gulf of Thailand, not far from Cambodia. They are in the Trat province, and incredibly easy to get to. Grab a flight from Bangkok to Trat Airport, a minivan from the airport to the pier, and a ferry to whichever island you choose. This is can all be booked easily on 12Go.
