I’ve been getting comments on my tik tok lately, “how can we support you?” and “can we donate?” I even had DMs of people requesting I send them a bill to cover. Mind blown.
Tik Tok has been, by far, the greatest and most unexpected gift in my startup process. I initially posted to Tik Tok as a way to document my journey in a “lowkey” fashion as I wasn’t ready to fully announce it on my main business socials— Instagram & Facebook. With less than 200 followers, I intended to post weekly videos as a journal diary for a relatively small audience.
After posting my first weekly update, things went a different way. Quickly & very suddenly, I had a community supporting & cheering me on every week. Entrepreneurship can be isolating & lonely, but it can also be incredibly community-filled. This year has reminded me the greatest gift I have in this life is people. As someone who always felt a little on the outskirts, this was a big & warm realization.
I am about halfway through the startup process of our bakery storefront. Many times I’ve considered turning around & begin the shameful trek down the mountain. To be honest, I still question if this is the right path. But there is something in my innermost heart that feels moo’s was meant to find me. Whether it’s through radiant & glowing success or burning & blazing failure, this project is going to change my life.
