Every day I wake up to a world unraveling—
Headlines filled with violence, systems failing, climate collapsing.
The noise is loud. The grief is heavy.
It’s easy to ask the question: how could Montessori possibly matter right now?
But here's what I know:
A world like this is exactly what Montessori is for.
Montessori is not a trend.
You see Montessori isn’t about toys or fancy shelves at all.
It’s liberation work.
It’s radical work.
It’s work rooted in the belief that the child is not a vessel to be filled, but a human being to be trusted.
Dr. Montessori lived through war, fascism, and displacement. She watched the world fall apart- twice. And still, she turned to the child. Not to escape, but to rebuild.
So when people ask, “Is Montessori still relevant?”
I want to say: It’s never been more relevant.
Because in a world that is fast, loud, and violent…
Montessori gives children space to breathe.
In a world that demands obedience, Montessori cultivates critical thinking.
In a world that punishes difference, Montessori celebrates the child.
In a world that strips people of agency, Montessori says: you are capable.
In a world built on domination, Montessori plants seeds of liberation.
This is about preparing children for lives of dignity, courage, and compassion.
This is about raising children who can recognize oppression and choose not to repeat it.
Montessori is the revolution
It’s the slow, daily practice of raising children who are:
Free in spirit
Grounded in purpose
Respected from birth
Connected to the Earth
Unafraid to question systems
Confident in their voice, even when the world tells them to stay small
This is not school reform.
This is liberation work.
This is ancestral work.
This is visionary work
So yes, the world is in chaos.
But this method reminds us: we’re not just raising children to survive the world.
We’re raising children who will shape it.
Reimagine it.
Heal it.
And we do that by giving them freedom within limits, respect without conditions, and environments that honor their humanity.

Know that you're not “just” doing Montessori.
You are engaging in resistance.
