I’ma tell this story even though I do not exactly come off very smart in it. Long time ago before I allowed hooman to touch me, she used to sit beside my food in the round pen. One evening I was calmly eating my alfalfa when all of a sudden she SPROUTED ANOTHER LEG! You read that correctly. Her boot was sitting on the ground but her extra foot was not inside it. She had “hay in her boot” and was “dumping it out” she said.

So there I was, blocked from my dinner by an extra foot. She refused to put her boot back on and in fact put her weird pink foot RIGHT IN MY HAY that I was EATING. You know I said a lot of bad words. I stomped around and gave her side-eye and made threatening snorts but she didn’t move.

I mean, I had to eat at some point. So I finally circled back and got a bite of hay and ran down the fence line to eat it. I kept doing that until she decided to stop being a jerk and took her foot away but threw the boot in my hay feeder instead. Truthfully by then I was ready for a nap so I just decided to inspect the boot and get it over with and finish my hay. That is how I learned feet are inside boots and hands are inside one of my other favorite toys, “glubs” (see January 2025). Now I have even worn an (equine) boot myself on my own foot just for practice. The more you know, as hooman says.
