Hi, I'm Alexandra.

I am a second-year Master's in Public Policy student at the Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University, with a focus on the US-Mexico relationship.

Over the past five years, I have dedicated myself to studying Mexican politics, grappling with its complexities and disentangling popular narratives to develop my own independent understanding of the country’s political landscape, one based on my own research and time spent living and working in Mexico.

I write about Mexican politics in my Substack, Moments in Mexico, a platform dedicated to tracking and analyzing major developments in Mexico’s domestic politics and why they matter for US audiences.

All politics is a puzzle - with nuances, unique characters, and dizzying amounts of information (all of that multiplied when it’s in a foreign language). I aim to cut through the noise, presenting the information in a straightforward, non-partisan, and explanatory way to provide readers with the essential context they need to conduct their own analysis and develop their own conclusions. Moments in Mexico is my effort to make Mexican politics more accessible for those engaged in the US-Mexico relationship.
