Hi Molly, we spoke via this site a year ago about Pearl Jam’s “Ten.” I hope you’re having a better year—I saw in one of your videos where you said 2024 was rough, i had a tough year too, divorce with two kids etc but hanging in.
So I’m sure you have an enormously long request list but since you dug Slint, to keep you on that math/hard indie rock path , i recommend some other bands championed and/or recorded by the late great engineer Steve albini (he did one of slint’s other records but not this one): nirvana’s “in utero,” pj Harvey’s “rid of me,” pixies “surfer Rosa” (in fact I’d recommend all of pixies repertoire) and especially given your tastes for hard edged shit, “liar” by The Jesus Lizard (oh my god, fond memories of crowd surfing to some of those tracks!). there are also some killer records by bands Steve albini Was IN like “atomizer” by big black and “at action park” by shellac. Would love to see your reaction!
