How to Write 52 Articles in 52 Weeks: My Personal Challenge for 2024

Mar 01, 2024

Writing is a skill that can be improved with practice and feedback. But how do you find the time, motivation, and inspiration to write consistently? That's the question I asked myself when I decided to take on a 52-week writing challenge for 2024. My aim is to write and publish one article every week for the next year, on topics that interest me and my audience.

I'm not a professional writer, nor do I aspire to be one. I'm just someone who enjoys reading and learning new things, and who wants to share my thoughts and insights with others. I'm an avid reader, especially of news articles related to business and economy, self-help, personal growth, investment, money matters, tech, travel, and more. I also love books that inspire me, challenge me, or make me think differently. Some of the books that have influenced me are:

- Who Will Cry When You Die by Robin Sharma (my first book)

- Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

- The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma

- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

- Memoirs by David Rockefeller

- Make Your Bed by William H. McRaven

- The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel

- The Catalyst by Jonah Berger

- The Almanac of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson

These books have taught me valuable lessons about life, happiness, success, wealth, creativity, and more. I want to apply these lessons to my own life, and also share them with others through my writing.

But writing 52 articles in 52 weeks is not an easy task. It requires discipline, dedication, and a clear plan. Here are some of the tips and tricks that I'm going to use to achieve this goal:

- Create a list of topics in advance. One of the biggest challenges of writing is coming up with ideas. To avoid writer's block, I'm going to brainstorm a list of topics that I want to write about, based on my interests, passions, and expertise. I'll also use tools like Google Trends, Quora, Reddit, and Medium to find out what people are searching for, asking, and reading about. I'll aim to have at least 100 topics on my list, so that I have enough options to choose from every week.

- Schedule a time to write every day. Writing is a habit that needs to be cultivated and maintained. To make sure that I write consistently, I'm going to schedule a time to write every day, preferably in the morning, when my mind is fresh and focused. I'll use a calendar app, a reminder app, or a habit tracker app to keep myself accountable. I'll also set a timer for 10 minutes, and write without stopping or editing, until the timer goes off. This will help me overcome the initial resistance and inertia that often prevent me from starting to write.

- Write for myself, not for others. Writing is a form of self-expression, not a popularity contest. I'm not going to worry about how many views, likes, comments, or shares my articles will get. I'm not going to compare myself to other writers, or try to please everyone. I'm going to write for myself, because I enjoy it, and because I want to learn and grow. I'm going to write about what I care about, what I know, and what I want to know more about. I'm going to write in my own voice, style, and tone, and not try to copy or imitate anyone else.

- Seek feedback and improve. Writing is also a form of communication, and communication is a two-way street. I'm not going to write in a vacuum, or isolate myself from my readers. I'm going to seek feedback and constructive criticism from people who I trust and respect, and who can help me improve my writing. I'm going to use tools like Grammarly, Hemingway, and ProWritingAid to check my spelling, grammar, punctuation, and readability. I'm going to read other writers who I admire, and learn from their techniques, tips, and tricks. I'm going to revise, edit, and polish my articles before I publish them, and make sure that they are clear, concise, and compelling.

These are some of the tips and tricks that I'm going to use to write 52 articles in 52 weeks in 2024. I'm excited and nervous about this challenge, but I'm also confident that I can do it. I believe that writing is a powerful way to express myself, connect with others, and contribute to the world. I hope that you'll join me on this journey, and that you'll find some value and inspiration in my articles. Thank you for reading, and happy writing!
