Happy April, friends!
As we step into this new month, we’re celebrating Easter and reflecting on the true reason behind it all. The gift of Christ and what He has done for us is never lost on our homestead. This season is a powerful reminder of sacrifice, grace, and giving, and in honor of that gift, we’ve chosen to give away our entire monthly food budget to those in need. It’s something that has been on our hearts, and we’re so grateful to be in a position to do it.
Here on the homestead, life is picking up in the best way.
Baby chicks are back and not just a few. We have more arriving throughout the month as we take on meat birds again this season. It’s always a busy and noisy time, but one we truly love.
Aaron and I have also been hard at work in the coop, and what started as a simple remodel has turned into something much bigger. We are completely redoing the entire space with fireproof, solid walls to better protect our flock. It’s a huge project, but one we know will be worth it.
And finally it’s happening. The snow is starting to melt.
After a long winter, we’re beginning to look ahead to all the outdoor projects we’ve been dreaming about. Our focus now is getting the land ready for a future shop build, something that will be a big step forward for our homestead.
There is so much to be grateful for in this season. New life, fresh starts, and the opportunity to keep building this life we love.
