So I saw Madame Web today and oh boy, it is just as bad as everyone said it is. I went into the theatre knowing this was going to be a bad movie, so I smuggled my Flame Broiler in there and tried to enjoy myself for 2 hours. Which I did! It was truly quite peaceful to be at the movies by myself on a Sunday afternoon π
But I digress. Let's talk about Madame Web *SPOILER FREE. Listen, I understand what they were trying to do with this movie. I did not know much about the character or Superhero Madame Web going in...and I wasn't able to gather much more even after seeing the movie BUT I know what they were trying to do and it could have been so good...but the execution failed on every. single. front.
The dialogue is PAINFUL. By far the worst I have ever seen in a movie. And I like Dakota Johnson, but she couldn't even save the script. From cringey one-liners to phrases that straight up don't make any sense at all, it is simply terrible.
AND THE VILLAIN π π Guys, this villain had me cackling at how bad he was. From the bad dubbing (when the words and mouth movements don't line up) to the way he so not intimidating at all, it is laughable how poor of a villain this guy is.
If they had showed more Spidey suits and less Madame Web backstory, maybe this movie could have been better. But hey, maybe it's so bad it will become a new cult classic like "The Room". IYKYK π
