€5
Have you ever felt lost when someone says, “I’ll pray for you”? Is the idea of prayer confusing filling us with question like —How should I begin? What words do I use? Does God really listen? If you’ve recently embraced faith and find yourself struggling to talk with God, this book is written just for you.
In How to Pray?, pastor and writer Jonny Pollock offers a clear, compassionate roadmap for anyone who has ever felt awkward, intimidated, or uncertain about prayer. Drawing on scriptural examples this guide dismantles myths of “magic formulas” and “perfect language.” Instead, it reveals prayer as what it truly is: a heartfelt conversation with a loving Father who already knows you deeply and desires your authentic voice.
Inside these pages, you will discover:
• What Prayer Really Is: Learn why prayer isn’t about reciting rules or impressing God, but about engaging in genuine dialogue that transforms your heart.
• Why We Pray: Understand how prayer cultivates dependence, aligns your desires with God’s will, and invites you to participate in His work in the world.
• How to Pray: Walk through the Lord’s Prayer as a flexible framework to help us understand how to approach God in prayer.
• Overcoming Obstacles: Identify and address common struggles whether they be distractions, doubt, guilt, and spiritual dryness. And learn simple, sustainable strategies to keep your prayer life growing.
Each chapter includes “Try It” exercises and reflection questions that help you grow in prayer. You’ll gain three essential gifts:
Confidence in approaching God, seeing Him not as a distant judge, but as a caring Father.
A simple framework for structuring your prayers, so you never feel lost or tongue-tied.
A deeper understanding of how prayer can shape your character, relationships, and community.
Whether you read straight through or dive into sections that address your most pressing questions, this book meets you where you are. You don’t need fancy words, secret techniques, or a theological degree. You simply need to show up and talk honestly with the One who wants to hear your heart.
