Not everything is good for you and so, not everything is good to have. You don't need to have everything to live a good life, you only need to locate what's good for you to have to live a good life. This means that your focus isn't to attain all things but to attain all things that are good for you.

What is good for you is what you are meant to have, and when you have not what is yours to have, it doesn't replace the vacancy created by not having what you aren't meant to have. Because the outcome your life produces is determined by what you have in your life, the results you experience in your life become what you aren't meant to experience when you possess what you aren't meant to have in your life.

What we have determines the reality we experience in life. Our experiences are formed by what we have.

People are going through unpleasant experiences because they married a partner that isn't meant for them or are doing a job they are not meant to do. Nobody including ourselves truly knows what's good for us because we didn't create ourselves. No product determines what's good for itself. It's the creator that holds this knowledge so therefore, God is the only one that knows what's good for us.

The major reason why we have what isn't meant for us or chase what isn't meant for us is because we trust in the understanding we have about ourselves to know what's good for us and this has made us not see the need to go to God, our Creator, to discover what's good for us. The Bible says "My people perish for the lack of Wisdom", they lack it because they refuse to go to God who has it in abundance and every ready to give to anyone who asks for it so people create unpleasant realities they experience because they refuse to seek God's wisdom and knowledge, not that God isn't willing to tell them what's meant for them to have.

You need the truth which is Jesus to possess the right thing. You need the knowledge of what's yours to have before you can have what's yours. Knowledge directs and determines the actions we take. When we have the wrong knowledge, our directions and actions are automatically faulty. Wrong knowledge doesn't only lead you to have what isn't good for you, it also prevents you from having what's good for you.

Many waste their time chasing the wrong things because their understanding of what's good for them is faulty. God says that the thoughts He has for us are good and to give us an expected end.

What is good for you

It was after the serpent spoke to Eve, that she looked at the fruit and saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, this was when she went ahead to eat it and gave it to her husband to eat.

The serpent made her forget what determines what is good and pleasant. God's word is what determines what's good for you. This is one of the ways satan has prevented us from experiencing the life God has designed for us to live. He makes what God made not good for us seem good for us by mentioning reasons why it's good for us until we find ourselves eating the forbidden fruit. Sin is therefore going after what God has said isn't good for us. This is why when we don't know what God has said, the devil doesn't need to do too much talking to get us to sin. This is why unbelievers can't but sin with little or no effort from the devil.

It's a sin to go against God's word so when we don't seek God to know what's good for us, it becomes impossible for God's hand to be upon what you have, and in the absence of light, there's darkness so, it is the expressions of darkness that we experience as the consequence for not seeking God, and this becomes clear at the end. In the book of Proverbs, it says there's a way that seems right in the eyes of man but the end thereof is destruction. This means that our eyes can deceive us, so we must not trust them and because we can't see the end of a thing, we must submit our desires and plans to the one who sees and knows the end from the beginning.

What's good for you is whatever God says is good for you, not what you or anyone says is good for you. You must make seeking God to know what's good for you before going after anything a lifestyle and be willing to only go after what He says is good for you.
