There's a new Googlebook Perk offer showing up for the UK and Ireland - "Stream, work and play on a new Googlebook for 100 days. Keep it it you love it like we do, or send it back for a full refund".

I'm always a bit wary of offers like this, but it sounds like Google are putting this in place to give potential buyers like you and I the confidence to invest early in a Googlebook (buying between now and 31st December 2026), with limited risk to our pockets!

The promotion website is the same one that was used at the end of 2025 for the offer in the UK to claim £100 cashback on a Chromebook Plus model, or £30 on a Chromebook. Subscribers of the MergeDroid channel will know that was an excellent offer that worked well and provided some real bargains when it came to buying Chromebook Plus in particular (video).

The expected participating retailers are listed, with Currys in the UK and Ireland both online and physical stores, EE online and then manufacturers direct on their own website stores for Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. This also helps to confirm that HP will be selling their Googlebook 14 direct, it's currently still not showing via their own website (but is at Currys and EE online).

Oddly then for the qualifying models we have all but the XPS listed, I assume (but you'd need to check) that's just an admin error, as last time I checked you couldn't buy an Acer, ASUS, HP or Lenovo from Dell's website! 🤣

You can check if this Perk is available to you via this site. Please of course check the full T&C before diving in and hitting "Order" on what is still a very substantial purchase. What do you think, does this give you enough confidence to buy a Googlebook during these early launch months?
