Google have announced pre-orders for Googlebooks starting from next Monday (21st September 2026). The date format is tailored to the US market, but I hope this means the ability to pre-order will be available in multiple regions - we'll have to see 🤞

Any official news is pretty exciting news right now when it comes to Googlebooks, but I'm curious if a pre-order approach was always the plan. Could it suggest stock isn't as ready as hoped for just yet, or is this part of the launch plan to build and gauge interest? Either way, due to there being multiple manufacturers involved (Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo) with a new product's global launch, this could be a very sensible first step for Googlebooks.
