I’m a full time software developer who has been maintaining and implementing new features for the community version of Terraforming Mars Web App for free for over 6 years.

Terraforming Mars is my favourite boardgame, and digitalisation made it possible to play with friends and other players all across the globe. Since then, several hundreds of thousands of games have been played on this app.

This extended community version is based off the OG project built collaboratively by a bunch of coders from all across the globe during the early days of the pandemic, and aims to provide a richer gameplay experience by introducing more fan content and interesting mechanics.

On 28 Nov 2022, Heroku officially removed support for free app hosting. This means that app servers and databases will now cost 14 USD per month to continue running.
