Hello!

I've not checked in for awhile, so here's what's going on with me. I'm frantically finishing my Textile Talk, which I will give next Wednesday, October 25 at 2 pm LIVE. The topic is Textile Art of Burning Man, and oh wow, am I having an amazing time putting all this together. I'll be talking about art installations that are mostly fabric and some of the crazy costumes of Burning Man. I'll talk about what Swedish supermodels wear to Burning Man, and what the rest of us wear. You can register to watch the talk through the website of the International Quilt Museum (www.internationalquiltmuseum.org). Like all Textile Talks it is completely free and lasts one hour. I promise to save time for questions! Register even if the timing is bad for you, because they will automatically send you a link to the recording later.

On top of that, I spent many weeks helping to organize and research the New Jersey issue of Quiltfolk magazine and I can promise you, it's going to be amazing! I think the profile of Mark Lipinski alone is worth the price of an issue. The editors and designers are laying it all out and going through the thousands of photographs and it will come out in January. Given the nature of that publication, we have our eyes in 3 directions - Issue 29 about Colorado is just starting to land in subscriber's mailboxes and I'm super proud of that issue as well. I've kept in touch with Steven Garner who learned to quilt in prison and I think his story will really touch you. Now, we are gearing up for a new state: Georgia!

I recently was asked if I'd like to be the next editor-in-chief of Quilting Arts magazine, but the fact is, I'd rather write than edit. I love having the time to explore stories for Quiltfolk and for my Quilt Journalist newsletter while also lecturing and having time to make my own quilts.

I hope you are feeling full of inspiration these days and making quilts that matter to you.

love, Meg
