My name is Duncan Gill. I was born in Hemel Hempstead, England, in July 1987. I grew up along the coastline of Pembrokeshire, Wales, and studied Art & Design and Graphic Communication at college and university for six years.

Over the years, I've worked across many industries, from farming, agriculture, catering, hospitality, retail and administration to teaching and film, where I served as an editor and lead runner for H Productions. But my true passion has, and always will, be The Ancestral Odyssey, an epic fantasy series that has become my life's work.

Naturally, I've always loved fantasy in all its forms, from medieval worlds to science fiction, particularly horror.

For as long as I can remember, I've had an imagination that never let me rest, one that constantly hungered for something wild, beautiful, dangerous, colourful, dark and otherworldly. I'm inspired by epic stories found in books, games and film. I love exploring the unknown, understanding the complexities of our heroes—human or otherwise—and studying the myths, histories and origin stories that shape them. Breaking those stories apart and weaving them back together has become the driving force behind my own creativity, and should you decide to journey into The Ancestral Odyssey, I hope that passion reveals itself rather quickly.

My ambition is simple, though perhaps not small. I want to offer readers—and fellow creatives—something that feels genuinely fresh. I want to explore what epic fantasy is at its very core, push the genre into bold new territory and, if I'm fortunate enough, leave it just a little different from how I found it.

Whether I succeed in that endeavour... is entirely up to you.
