About The McDaniel Family Farm
A Self Sustaining Farm, Ranch and Center for Scientific Investigation
I am a 41 year old man who was born in Texas, grew up in Northern California, emigrated to Peru in 2014, and spent 2020-2022 in Scotland and Ireland.
I have been many things in my life: Proud Texan, Northern California Bozo (Sacred Clown) Organic Heirloom Farmer, Professional Musician, Festival Security, Student of Yoga/Martial Arts, Dog/Horse Trainer, Livestock Producer/Rancher, Carpenter, Electrician, Amateur Scientist/Chemist. And now I add Devoted Husband to that list.
I never thought I would be married, and my only "children" have always been my Animals.
I am beginning a new chapter of my life after having everything I worked for in my 20s and 30s taken away from me over the past 5 years to due Governmental Corruption and The Pandemic. I don't know if the US or Peruvian Governments will ever be held accountable for the crimes they committed against me, and I finally don't care. I live with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Before I met my wife, I thought my life was over. I've done far more good in this world than harm, and I've asked God to forgive me for the few errors that I've made.
But NOW? Now, I'm happy, healthy, and alive again in ways that I never thought was possible. I have a beautiful wife who is also highly intelligent and full of integrity. I have an extended "Peruvian Family" that includes many honorable people who make their lives as organic farmers. I have business associates who care more about doing good for our community than they do in making a profit at the expense of the health of their land and it's inhabitants.
I have always been VERY uncomfortable in asking for "handouts" but I also "talk to God" every morning. And I also listen to their response. I have been inspired to humble myself and communicate my story and my plans for creating the next chapter of The McDaniel Family Farm in a way that allows people to contribute and participate in our work. I don't believe EVERYTHING that was written in the bible, and you wouldn't either if you researched it's history. However, we are supposed to "tithe" 10% of our income to help make the world a better place for EVERYONE.
That, is the purpose of our farm. To feed people that have never seen Heirloom Vegetables nor the westernized versions of Livestock that we will help bring to Peru. Peruvians love Beef, but as a Texan, I'm sad that they don't have access to Angus or Waygu. I'm also sad that even if they did, most of them couldn't afford it. Repeat that for any number vegetables or meats that people from the western world take for granted.
I am building this farm to support my family FIRST. But with the abundance that I know how to create through Sustainable Farming/Ranching, I will help ease the suffering of the Peruvian people, as it relates to their inability to afford clean, nutritious foods.
