May Ledesma ❤️ is an Austin, Texas-based Filipino-American singer-songwriter, IT (Hardware, Software, and Cybersecurity) professional, and community advocate. Her musical and philanthropic passions are fueled by her personal journey as an immigrant and single mother, which ignites her songwriting and commitment to helping others.  May's passion for music and giving back to the community is enabled by her personal history and her life as an immigrant and a mother. • Healing through Singing and Songwriting: May's songwriting is a form of therapy and self-expression, allowing her to process difficult life experiences, like domestic violence, rejection, or being shunned after becoming a single mother. She wrote several songs, one of which for her son, titled "Life is Beautiful" to demonstrate her strength and resilience in the face of adversity, offering a message of hope to other women. May have 2 released albums - Brown Skin and Elusive Love. Her participation was aimed at celebrating the talent, resilience, and beauty of Filipino-American women. • Giving back through Community Involvement: May is heavily involved in her community through volunteer work and advocacy. Her roles include: • Filipino Young Professionals of Austin, Texas (FYP-ATX): May a member of the Board of Directors as the Director of Professional Development for FYP-ATX. In this leadership capacity, she helps foster leadership and build community. • CompTIA: May sits as a member of CompTIA's Certification Advisory Committee and various certifications' Subject Matter Expert. • Girlstart: May sits in thr Engagement Committee for Girlstart, helping with generating funding for the organization's amazing giving back activities. • Code2College: May works as an instructor and mentor for organizations that empower young people in science, technology, and education. • Seedling: and Communities in School: May served as a mentor for both Seedling and CIS. She helped the youth in these programs with various academic needs in Math and Reading, as well as provide a loving, caring, and nurturing company for these kids. • Various affiliations in Silicon Labs: May served as the Chairwoman for one of the company's ERG - Women @ Silicon Labs. She also chaired a Committee at the company's annual Technical Symposium. May is currently a member of the company's Austin Site Ambassadors. • Keep Austin Beautiful and Lake Travis Cleanup: May volunteers for environmental causes.
