I write The Shattered Covenant, a Christian fantasy novel published chapter by chapter on Kindle as it's being written, and I write it with AI, openly.
That's the part worth pausing on. What separates this work from the flood of AI-generated fiction isn't whether the tool was used, but how. AI is less like a hammer than a horse under harness: it carries strength I don't have alone, but it drifts, willing to wander if left to itself. So you bridle it. The reins are mine. The route is mine. Canon is locked, in writing, by me before any drafting begins. Every chapter goes through my judgment end to end. The voice is calibrated against my own writing, not an averaged style. This is the work I'm doing in public: showing what it looks like to use AI as a craftsman uses a tool, not as a ghostwriter.
I grew up in a Christian home where faith and storytelling were woven into the rhythms of everyday life. For a long season writing was set aside under the weight of work and family, but in recent years it has returned in the quiet hours after my wife and children are asleep. My stories are not allegories or moral fables; they are grounded explorations of faith, doubt, deception, and redemption, meant to engage the imagination, stir the heart, and point the reader to what is eternal.
Those same quiet hours go to building the infrastructure that makes this kind of work possible: refining the harness, the hooks, and the tools that get AI to write long-form fiction with accuracy and conviction. What began as a theory has become something closer to a demonstration, and the book is the proof.
